Chapter 44
C44 – Shame
“I’m Ke Fanyin. What’s the problem here?”
Old Master Ke was clueless about the situation, but the Super Martial Club was not about to show him any respect.
“I don’t care who you are. Just get out, and take everyone from the Ke family with you.”
The head of the Super Martial Club commanded, and the Ke family members were promptly expelled.
“We haven’t done anything wrong.”
“Can anyone explain what’s going on?”
“This is so humiliating!”
All members of the Ke family, Ke Lianxi included, were ousted.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
“Senior Wei, what’s happening?” Watching his fiancée’s family being ejected, Young Master Yan cautiously approached and inquired.
“The Ke family has crossed someone they shouldn’t have. Are you planning to stand up for them?” Senior Wei nodded, barely giving Young Master Yan a glance.
“My ties to the Ke family aren’t strong.”
Young Master Yan bit his tongue. As a Fifth Grade powerhouse, Senior Wei was a formidable presence in the Super Martial Club. He could easily have Young Master Yan removed with little effort.
He wasn’t foolish enough to antagonize the Super Martial Club on behalf of the Ke family.
“Who are they? So shameless. They must have been thrown out for crashing the event, right?”
“Looks like they’re from the Ke family. Isn’t that old man Ke Fanyin? He was in my class back in the day.”
“The Ke family? I’ve never even heard of this guy. Is he supposed to be a big deal?”
“He’s nearly eighty and only at a Third Grade level. If he were all that impressive, why would he need to sneak in here?”
As the Ke family was escorted out, onlookers started buzzing with speculation.
Old Master Ke’s face transformed with the turn of events, darkening with shame.
Having lived nearly a century, Old Master Ke had never experienced such disgrace.
Ke Lianxi, Ke Huayuan, and Fei Ning were utterly bewildered, unable to fathom why they were being turned away.
“Maybe the Super Martial Club realized we didn’t have an invitation?”
“Enough. We’ve been embarrassed enough for one day. From now on, let’s not rely on Young Master Yan anymore. He’s proven to be utterly unreliable!”
Fei Ning’s speculation only fueled Old Master Ke’s irritation, his face flushing with anger.
“Shuyi is still in there,” Ke Huayuan remarked. His son had dashed off to play with the Yan family’s second young master as soon as he arrived, sparing him from being ousted.
“We’ll wait for him, and for that Pei Yu as well. He’s definitely the one who spilled the beans!” Old Master Ke declared with vehemence.
“When Pei Yu comes out, I’m going to make him pay. I’ll make sure he’s crippled!”
The Ke family members remained silent. They were convinced that Pei Yu had ratted them out; otherwise, they wouldn’t be in such an awkward situation.
They had been ejected in front of society’s elite, a debacle that was sure to be tomorrow’s front-page scandal. The Ke family would be disgraced.
Pei Yu made his way to the Super Martial Club’s expansive lawn buffet.
Zheng Xiaoyue had just taken his sister there to dine.
Upon arrival, Pei Yu didn’t spot Zheng Xiaoyue. He scanned the area slowly until his gaze abruptly locked onto a distressing sight.
Three men were harassing Pei Yuner, who was huddled in a chair, clutching her head, on the verge of tears.
She was trying to escape, but they had her cornered, clearly delighting in her torment.
Among the trio, Pei Yu recognized Ke Shuyi from the Ke family.
The sight ignited a fury in Pei Yu, and he exploded, “Release my sister, now!”
