Chapter 426 Crazy bitch
The spiraling sigils on the rock flickered, their glow faltering as cracks began to spread across its surface. The oppressive gravity wavered, giving Tang Yue a sliver of hope. But then, the voice returned, colder and more resolute than ever.
"Foolish. You think two can overpower me? You are nothing but a shadow against eternity!"
From the depths of the unending hole, a massive wave of darkness surged upward, devouring the flames in an instant. The black void pressed forward, consuming everything in its path. If Tang Yue did not act in the next second, she would without a question be completely devoured.
"No!" she roared as another clone emerged and then another one. The clone-creating technique was absolute madness. It was the combination of two freak bloodlines she had absorbed right from this very forbidden lands. However, she was also paying a price for it.
Every clone consumed her longevity. Someone who was as powerful as her could live for thousands of years without any concern for time and if she gained more power she could easily survive millions, but this technique shaved away years of her life with every clone she conjured.
Tang Yue felt the weight of her decision with each passing second, her vitality slipping away like grains of sand in an hourglass. Yet, she didn't hesitate. She had come to a place that she perhaps shouldn't have stepped in.
But what choice did she have?
She was lacking strength and this was her only option. If she could not survive right here and die, then that was her fate. Without gaining more strength she was dead anyway. She would be hunted down by those gods and killed. Her loved ones would be obliterated. Her entire race and lands would be erased.
She was dead either way and at least now she was able to fight to her heart's content and die trying. She preferred this over, spending the rest of her life running and hiding like a weak coward. She preferred this over her loved ones being held hostage and threatened.
Tang Yue strengthened her resolve as she churned out another clone. A pain rippled from her very essence but she gritted her teeth and kept going.
One by one, new clones started emerging, unleashing a torrent of powerful draconic fire.
Pain coursed through her body, not the searing pain of a physical wound but a deep, agonizing rippling from the core of her being. Each clone cost her years, perhaps decades, of her life—a price so steep that even her draconic lineage trembled under the weight of it.
Yet she didn't stop. She couldn't.
The mana in the air was sucked dry and more mana was being pulled in every second. The ground fissured further and further and miles of land around them was laid waste. The battlefield had transformed into a hellscape of chaos and destruction.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The multiple beams of draconic fire collided with the gravity of the abyss and fought against its unrelenting oppression.
The voice thundered once more, its tone laced with disdain and triumph. "You burn yourself to ash for nothing! You are dust before me. An ember trying to challenge an eternal storm. Surrender and die with dignity."
"Dignity?" she spat, flames flickering at the edges of her lips. "You wouldn't know dignity if it burned your wretched core to cinders. I fight because I must. I fight because they need me."
Her mind flashed with images of her home, her people, and the two faces whom she loved more than anything. Their laughter, their warmth, their belief in her—they were the fuel to her fire. Her claws ignited as she roared, her voice echoing through the shattered landscape. "I'll burn eternity itself if it means protecting them!"
Another clone emerged, and another beam of draconic fire blasted. The ninth beam of draconic fire joined the others, forming a blazing symphony of destruction that collided with the abyss in a battle that tore through the heavens and scarred the earth below.
For the first time, the voice faltered, its mocking tone replaced with a sliver of unease. "No!" it screamed, a tremor of desperation threading through its thunderous cry.
"This cannot be! You are but mortal—this power is not yours to wield! How can mere unawakened attacks compare to my enlightenment? I have lived in these lands for millennia! My runes of power are seeped with the Dao of the myriad realms. You are an ant in front of me. Die!"
Tang Yue stood amidst the chaos, her golden eyes blazing with unyielding resolve. Her breath was ragged, her body trembling under the strain, but her fire refused to dim.
"Power?" she spat, her voice hoarse but defiant. "You think this is about power? It's about purpose. And I have more of that than you'll ever understand!"
With a deafening roar, she poured every ounce of her remaining energy into the attack. The flames roared louder, brighter, their combined heat peeling away the oppressive gravity that clung to her like a shroud.
The spiraling sigils on the rock fractured further, the cracks deepening as the oppressive light they emitted flickered weakly.
The abyss roared in retaliation, the void pushing forward in one last, desperate surge, but it was too late. Tang Yue's flames reached their zenith, her clones feeding every last ember of their existence into the attack.
The beams of fire merged into one colossal torrent, a dark, golden and crimson inferno that struck the dead center of the abyss.
Your journey continues at empire
The impact was apocalyptic. The rock exploded, its spiraling sigils shattering into shards of light that scattered across the battlefield. The void screamed, its tendrils dissolving into nothingness as the abyss collapsed inward, consuming itself in a final, desperate implosion.
The oppressive gravity lifted, and the forbidden lands fell silent.
Tang Yue staggered, her legs barely able to hold her. Her clones dissolved, their essence returning to her with a painful, lurching wave that left her gasping for air. The price of victory was carved deep into her very being—her lifespan reduced, her strength drained, her soul frayed. Yet, she had won.
"Yes, you did, you crazy bitch." Another voice rang out and a warmth wrapped around her before she lost consciousness.
What do you think?
