Chapter 369 Turning the Tide - Part 2
"Are you serious?" a voice asked, filled with astonishment.
She held a longsword, shining brightly under the dim light of the hall as she swung it back and forth, feeling the uniqueness of the sword.
She was the Mo Matriarch.
Her sharp gaze rested on the sword for a couple of moments before she raised her head to stare at the middle-aged man standing a few feet from her.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
If anyone from the adventurer teams were to see this man, they would realize he was the team captain of the Silent Shield.
After the Rising Flame team, they were next in fame and power. And there he was, standing respectfully in front of the Mo Matriarch, offering her his weapon.
This was no ordinary weapon; it was the new weapon given to them by the store a few minutes earlier.
Fu Shun might have joined the adventurer guild of the Celestial Heavenly Store, but he had another identity. He was one of the secret guards of the Mo Clan.
Whenever the Mo Clan needed to annihilate their enemies, Fu Shun and other hidden guards would be deployed. Thus, he was far from the public eye.
The rising fame and influence of the Celestial Heavenly Store prompted the Mo Matriarch to send him as a spy into the store.
Previously, when he became a Body Building realm cultivator and cultivated the first level of the superior technique, the Mo Clan thought they could learn the technique.
Unfortunately for them, it was futile. The technique was branded into his soul and could not be taught or shared through other means.
It was then they realized how mysterious the superior technique was.
With no method of stealing the technique, the Mo Clan was having a serious headache, trying to come up with a plan. And now, the store had chosen to give their people powerful weapons.
How could the Mo Matriarch remain calm?
After testing the weapon against every other weapon available in the city, the longsword cut through them as if a hot knife through butter.
Compared to the weapon from the store, every other weapon was trash.
"We need to get our hands on all the weapons," the Mo Matriarch finally said, a sinister look on her face.
"I agree. With these weapons, destroying the store will be difficult. We must act now," Fu Shun responded with a nod.
Quickly, the Mo Clan sprang into action, preparing to launch a full assault on all the adventurers carrying weapons from the store.
Just as the Mo Clan was preparing to attack the adventurers, the Wei Clan was also gearing up to attack them.
"Son, you must not fail this time," Patriarch Wei said to his eldest with a solemn expression. "The survival of our clan depends on you."
Filled with confidence, Wei De looked at his father and responded, "Father, I won't let you down. It's time for the world to know how powerful our clan is."
The Feng Clan and the Sun Clan were also preparing, sending their strongest men to attack all the adventurers.
The peaceful night was about to go up in flames as the steps of powerful martial artists reverberated throughout the quiet streets.
For the commoners, they were shocked and confused, unsure of what was going on. Not wanting to be caught in the crossfire, they did what they usually did: close their doors, windows, and play dead.
With the chaos reaching its breaking point, the city lord stood on the balcony of his mansion with a pensive gaze.
"With these weapons, things have changed," he muttered, a flash of decisiveness appearing on his face.
"I can't afford to wait any longer." He turned his head and looked at his butler.
"Attack and kill everyone and everything in your path. We must get our hands on the superior cultivation technique and the secret manuals for creating these weapons."
"Yes, my lord."
In a secret basement, Zennad looked at the special swords, and deep shock was written all over his savage face.
"How could the puny humans create something this extraordinary!" he exclaimed.
The Necoris had always been superior in weapons and strength over the humans and the mixed race, but now, things were about to change.
He dropped the black gleaming dagger and turned to look at Evead. "You pieces of shit. Do you know what your miserable failure has cost us now, hmm?"
His deep voice resounded through the hidden basement.
Evead and his men were visibly trembling, cursing their bad luck and the Celestial Heavenly Store for choosing such a dangerous time to reveal such superior weapons.
"C-Commander…"
"Shut your trap." He glared at him, ready to give him a terrifying slap.
Watching Zennad's piercing gaze, Evead lowered his head and cowered in fear.
"Gear up, we're attacking right away," Zennad commanded and left the room in large strides.
With things turning out this way, he couldn't afford to wait any longer. If things continued to progress like this, it was only a matter of time before his competitors heard about it.
Tonight, all the hidden powers would shed their facades and launch a full-frontal assault on the Celestial Heavenly Store.
Quickly, all the exits to the city were shut, with powerful martial artists guarding them.
From the west, east, south, north, and center of the city, strong resounding footsteps could be heard by those hiding in their houses.
Tension gripped the atmosphere like a vice, and their hearts pounded heavily against their chests.
What would be the fate of the city?
When those hiding saw the Necoris, their eyes widened, and they gasped in shock.
How was this possible?
How could the guards allow the brutal Necoris into the city?
"We're doomed," they all cried.
Now, their thoughts shifted from the civil unrest to what their fate would be if the Necoris captured them.
While the various powers marched toward the Celestial Heavenly Store, two silhouettes stood on the roof of the Celestial Heavenly Store.
"It is time for the Store Knights to unveil their might," one of the silhouettes said, his voice laced with anticipation.
