First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 787 Mission Not Over?

"All done, Angi?" Mira asked as she placed a newly bedazzled cover on top of the dark book.

Nearby, Sister Angelina was restraining the tribe of Frost Giants using some very tight ropes created from magic.

"Nearly there, princess. They are being remarkably cooperative." She hummed.

Mira finished applying her binding and looked down at the woman kneeling at her feet.

"Seems you did quite a number on their minds just now, Alexandra. You actually reminded me a little bit of myself if I'm honest."

Mira cupped her face in her hand and the young disciple felt like she was going to faint. She was being touched by her goddess.

Mira's hands were a pleasant cold. Her skin was sweet smelling and her presence welcoming.

Alexandra had never once regretted her decision to join the Sisterhood of Dragons, and even less so now.

"But do me a favor and hamper down on some of your excitement, alright sweetheart?" Mira whispered. "It's not always safe and Angie is a real stickler for the rules, you know?"

Only now was Alexandra remembering the needle-like gaze she could feel boring into her back.

She may be afraid, but for right now this was tremendously worth all the scolding and book reading she would suffer later.

"I-I'll do as you say, Princess."

Mira smiled and helped the young woman get to her feet. She pulled her veil back down over her face gently, like a mother tidying up her child after a long day of play.

"Go and join the others now, Angie. And get ready for what is to come."

"Yes ma'am!"

Alexandra skipped happily back in line with the rest or the unit; ignoring their gazes of burning jealousy.

Finally, Mira decided it was time for her to get to work as well.

She casually climbed up a mini-mountain to reach a sunken in crater.

More specifically, the dents that the overzealous Alexandra had left in the head of the frost giant leader.

She gave him a few hard taps with the heel of her foot until he gradually stirred awake; clearly in no small amount of pain.

"Ugh... M-my teef... My eyes..!"

Both of the frost giant's eyes were black, blue, and thicker than Ayaana. 80% of his teeth were also missing. All courtesy of the wrathful Alexandra.

"Oh, right. Here." Mira said.

The frost giant didn't know what she had done, but after a few seconds his cheeks began to get wet, and his vision gradually returned to him.

He found Mira standing above him- an enchanting yet dangerous vision of a woman.

"W-Wha..?"

"Just cut and drained a bit of that fluid around your eyes so that you didnt lose them and you could see again."

"Ohhh..." To the frost giant, what Mira had said sounded no differently than magic.

"But you're going to lose them anyway and much more if you don't do everything that I tell you, okay?"

The giant's look of wonder immediately changed to one of horror.

"No!"

He lifted up a large blue hand to swat Mira away.

But he ever actually touched her. He couldn't explain why.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

When his hand came within striking distance he was suddenly stricken with an indomitable fear that transcended every negative experience he had ever had in his entire life.

His body trembled. He broke out into a cold sweat.

He even soiled his loincloth and made the entire nearby population of Unongendi curl their lips in disgust.

Mira was the only one who didn't seem to find any part of this display interesting in any way.

Her dark gaze never wavered as she stared into the eyes of her enemy.

"Have you thought a bit more about your decision?"

The giant put his hand down.

"A wise choice." She smiled.

Mira pulled out the book that was the focus of all the stress. Though it admittedly... looked a lot different from how it did an hour ago.

"What can you tell me about this?"

"I...never seen..?"

"What? It's literally the book you just had like two minutes ago!"

"No shiny.."

"I just glammed it up a bit. The thing was seriously dreary and depressing before. All of em' need my special brand of touching up." Mira shrugged.

She leaned down and tapped the binding of the book against his forehead.

"I need you to contact the guy who gave this to you. Quickly, if I might add."

Somehow, the frost giant's face lost all of it's blue coloration.

"H-He... he say no-"

"Do you honestly think that anything he could do to you is any worse than what I could do?"

Judging purely based on physiques, the frost giant was inclined to say yes.

And yet, he remembered the fear he felt just a couple of seconds ago. He wouldn't dare make such a shallow guess and risk suffering some ill fallen fate.

"I... do not know..?" He said, extra carefully.

Mira honestly didn't know if she could fault the giant for his choice of answering.

"Unless you want to find out, then I would strongly suggest you call your benefactor so that I can have a conversation with him instead of you."

If frost giants understood anything, it was the art of self preservation.

Honor? Loyalty? He had no luxury to think about those things when his race was on the verge of extinction.

If these two scary beings were going to have words with each other, then maybe there was a chance that they were going to leave his tribe out of it.

He reached inside of his knapsack and pulled out a large, black orb.

As soon as Mira saw it, her eyes narrowed.

"Sister Gwendolyn, to me."

Another dragoness appeared right next to her without a word.

"Be ready to act on my signal."

"Of course, Princess."

The frost giant rubbed the orb and it started to shine with an ultraviolet light.

An astral projection of a hooded figure towered over the body of the giantess. His booming voice showed he was less than pleased about being summoned.

"WHAT... Oh no."

"Gwen." Mira called.

The veiled woman lashed out at the astral projection with tendrils of her own magical power.

She made a grunting noise as she struggled to accomplish her task on her own and Mira decided to step in with a helping hand.

She placed her hand on the shoulder of her follower and funneled her own energy into her body.

Sister Gwendolyn felt a rush of new powe course through her entire, and she released a great yell in response.

Using Mira's energy to power herself and the faint energy of the astral stranger, she folded time, space, and who knew how many safeguards to create a doorway leading all the way back to him.

It was something that wouldn't have been possible without Gwendolyn's extensive study into quantum magical theory and interstellar molecular application.

'You did well, Gwen. Thank you.' Mira thought telepathically.

'All for the glory of the Unongendi, princess.' Gwen nodded back.

Mira smiled; proud of herself for assembling an outfit with such capable people as members. She would put them up against her auntie's Euphrates any day.

She stepped down from the troll's body and walked towards the hole in the air, and the hooded man standing on the other side of it.

"Hello there." She waived. "Will you come over here, or would you like us to come to you?"

The hooded figure took his time deciding.

Eventually, he stood up from a wooden table and blew out the candle that was keeping his room lit.

Without saying a word in response, he passed through the doorway.

Mira could feel his eyes sweeping the surrounding area. She could see his breath as he breathed amidst the cold air.

But she had yet to be able to tell how powerful he was. That was something he seemed to be working hard to keep a lid on.

His gaze finally settled on the downed frost giant and a hateful tone slipped out.

"Useless."

A blast of energy breezed past Miar's frame.

She didn't even need to look back to know that he was dead.

"Isn't that a bit much? They are almost extinct, you know?"

"I do. One of the few things your parents ever did correctly in their tenure."

The hooded man whirled around and made a slashing motion with his hand.

The heads of the frost giants went flying before they even knew what was happening. Their bodies slumped over each other limply within their bondage.

"Harsh." Mira whistled.

"This is merely the price for failing to hold up one's end of the bargain... and for selling me out. But you can just think of it as me finishing what your parents started."

Mira's eyes narrowed. "You seem to know me already."

"The twin-eyed terror accompanied by a congregation of bloodthirsty nuns with rare strands of magic at their fingertips? Figuring out your identity isn't anything worth rewarding."

The man brought his hands up to his hood and stopped just shy of pulling it down.

"But would you like to try your hand at guessing mine instead?"
