Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 444 Division Activities

For the next month, all Shye and his division members did was complete the required number of quests, with Shye and Reginald having to do three due to his punishment for reporting two weeks later than expected.

As a result, the first quest the duo took only netted them 40 gold coins and 2000 guild contribution points despite it being of (B) rank.

Shye believed that he could complete an (A-) ranked one, however, it was a waste to do so as the rewards for his first quest completion would be halved.

Thus, He decided to take on his first (A-) ranked quest after completing the (B) ranked one.

This bold move naturally shocked and impressed Reginald, yet, the guy didn't advise him against it.

He wanted to see the full prowess of their division leader.

Shye wasn't a stupid person based on how rational, confident, and charismatic he was in their first division meeting, Reginald knew that there was just no way that Shye would be a person who bites more than he could chew.

Hence, the division's temporary recruitment officer opted to shut his mouth and watch how his leader would complete the quest.

He was naturally willing to help and he wasn't scared of an (A-) ranked quest.

Only, he didn't expect that Shye would tell him to stand aside and watch.

Hearing Shye's instructions, Reginald was inwardly surprised--his heart in utter turmoil, yet, his lively exterior didn't crack in the slightest.

'Hoh, let's see what the mighty Shye Crowley, the ace representative who led a mediocre academy to the top, can do then.'

He honestly wanted to see if he indeed hit the jackpot by going all-in on a future star.

Reginald was honest in the interview, however, he was always hiding his true colors behind a lively and seemingly dumb exterior.

Should this young division leader of his be worthy, then he wouldn't hesitate to show him his true face.

...With his current most trusted underling standing on the side, Shye valiantly stood face to face against an (A-) ranked Evil Elf.

It was humanoid in shape, however, it looked extremely unnerving with its knee-long white hair, long black ears that emitted purple smoke, pitch-black eyes, and harrowing rows of uneven yet incredibly sharp pearly white teeth.

Its ragged cloak barely covered its body endowed with alluring curves that would surely disrupt a lustful man's focus, making one inevitably fall prey to the Evil Elf's terrifyingly sharp claws and teeth.

Soon after, the fight began.

The Evil Elf realized that Shye wasn't charmed by its unnerving yet attractive appearance, hence, its patience ran out, prompting it to madly dash towards Shye like a purple blur.

Its speed caused Reginald's eyes to narrow, causing doubts to emerge in his heart.

He didn't believe that a first-year rookie like Shye would be able to handle such speed.

Still, he made no movements.

If his division leader turned out to be someone who couldn't even estimate his capabilities properly, then he would be disappointed.

Contrary to his expectations, though, Shye easily followed the Evil Elf's movement with his gaze.

Then, as the humanoid creature arrived within attacking range, it viciously clawed at Shye's throat, aiming to rip it apart.

Unfortunately for the monstrous creature, Shye already decided to show off to his underling and was not planning to prolong the battle.

Willingly taking the elf's attack with the help of his trusty [Stoic] skill, a primal draconic roar reverberated across the eerie forest, momentarily paralyzing the Evil Elf.

Shye then wasted no time and slashed both greatswords at the Evil Elf's neck, empowering it with [Power Slash] and all three charges of [Boost] for good measure.

Then, as the greatswords made contact with the humanoid creature's bare neck...

SPURT!

A purple head flew through the air, splattering black blood that boiled eerily as it made contact with the ground everywhere.

Naturally, such an astonishing sight made Reginald's eyes widen, causing his blood to boil in pure excitement.

A minute hadn't even passed and the battle was already over.

This division leader was way stronger than what people believed him to be, no?

'Holy crap...who would've thought that this guy was still hiding his true strength?' Reginald mused in astonishment.

'Based on his performance today, he could've ended his duel with that rookie member of the Infernal Ravens instantly, yet, he had the presence of mind to keep a portion of his true power under wraps.'

With such a brilliant performance, Reginald vowed to wholeheartedly serve Shye.

The rise of such a strong and cunning youngster would be inevitable, and if his loyalty remained steadfast, he would naturally be a part of Shye's ascent.

'Hahaha! I might've struck it huge. I wonder how far this guy could go?'

...After looting the Evil Elf's corpse, the duo returned to the guild to turn their quest in.

This time, they earned a whopping 6,000 guild contribution points and 400 gold coins.

Since the two of them still had the energy to finish the third quest they were required to secure a small division lounge for their division, the duo didn't rest, immediately embarking on another (A-) ranked quest like some hungry wolves.

Naturally, Shye appreciated that his underlings had the same drive as him, however, it wouldn't exempt Reginald from the test Shye was about to give him.

The search for the (A-) ranked monstrous creature, the Tempest Wyrm, didn't go as smoothly as their search for the Evil Elf, though, as the creature roamed between three habitats.

It also had the skill to fade into transparency for an entire minute, making it harder for Shye and Reginald to track.

Luckily, the two of them didn't look strong, making the Wyrm think that they were nothing but prey.

Thus, after two more days, the creature revealed itself to them.

It was a colossal creature, stretching 20 meters in length, with a thick body boasting a circumference of four meters.

The Tempest Wyrm was covered in tough, white scales that protected its lengthy and robust form.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Its drake-like head featured a pair of green eyes, large nostrils, and a gaping maw filled with rows of sharp teeth and fangs.

The wyrm's appearance alone made Shye reconsider whether he should go through with his plan of allowing Reginald to be the main combatant while he remained as the support.

Only, he didn't expect this seemingly lively yet dumb underling of his to suggest something crazy.

"Division Leader Crowley, since you already showed me what you were capable of, it shall be my turn now. Please stand aside. Let me handle this."
