Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship

The following day, at dawn.

Yang Yi steered the Nightmare Star towards the spindle-shaped island and stopped at its southern side.

A broken, half-sunken massive ship lay at the centre of the island, seemingly having been there for a long time, its surface covered in some kind of vegetation.

If the ship were intact, its length would have exceeded several hundred metres, making it a giant ship.

Yang Yi did not rush to the island but checked the crystal ball again to make sure no other players' ships were nearby.

Only then did he begin his next move. He raised his gun over his head and fired a shot into the air.

Bang!

The sound of the gunshot was loud and clear.

If all went well, the gunshot would attract the monsters on the island.

The previous night, he had seen one of them wandering around the southern coast.

Two minutes after, two hairy-faced monsters came running towards him.

One was the man in the plaid shirt he had already seent, the other a woman with hair on her face, long arms, and black, reflective fingertips.

They swiftly moved on all fours, stopping at the coastline, lifting their grey-haired faces, and looking towards the Nightmare Star.

Yang Yi naturally wouldn’t let them run for nothing.

He adjusted the ship’s position, aimed the thick, rusted cannon at them, and fired two cannonballs the size of fists.

The cannon shot was not sharp and loud, more like the sound of water balloons bursting.

At a distance of less than three hundred metres, the two cannonballs hit their mark, the powerful force splitting the monsters in half, dropping a pile of parts and leaving two deep craters in the sand.

“What did you do that for?!” Suna complained.

The two monsters, whole seconds ago, were reduced to pieces in front of her.

“I wasn’t sure how strong they were, so I tried using the cannon first. If the cannon can’t kill them, then we better not go ashore; it’s too dangerous!” Yang Yi replied.

His words left Suna with no room to argue.

“Fine! According to my experience in gaming, if there’s a second one, there will definitely be a third. When that happens, you handle it yourself; I won’t interfere.”

Yang Yi continued, then steered the ship and prepared to anchor at a suitable spot.

The monsters weren’t strong, nowhere near as tough as the Gluttonous Guests.

If it had been one of those hungry creatures, taking a cannonball would likely not have killed it, unless it hit the head.

After waiting a bit and confirming there was no further movement on the island, he finally released the raft and prepared to go ashore with Suna.

“This is?”

Suna handed Yang Yi a makeshift mask. It was simple, made of several layers of cloth with a bit of fire moss inside.

“It’s a makeshift mask. It doesn’t provide much protection, but it’s better than nothing. These people might have contracted some kind of disease, so we need to be cautious.”

She then put it on and climbed down the ship’s ladder, jumping onto the raft.

Yang Yi followed closely behind.

The two of them rowed the raft to the shore smoothly.

Suna immediately ran to the bodies.

Yang Yi, meanwhile, stayed alert, pulling the raft onto the sand.

Once he confirmed the area was safe, he too walked over to check the bodies on the ground.

The three half-werewolves charged, but before they had even run two metres, one of them had its head burst on the spot. 

The fur-covered half-werewolf took an arrow to the knee and instantly lost balance, crashing to the ground.

A follow-up armour-piercing arrow struck its throat, flipping it onto its back.

By the time the last half-werewolf had run a metre, it was left all alone.

Still, it wasn’t afraid and lunged towards them. 

It saw Yang Yi remove the eye patch from his left eye, and before it knew it, everything went dark — the Sea Serpent's Fang had accurately pierced its eye socket.

Yang Yi quickly put the eye patch back on and shot the werewolf in the other eye to ensure it wouldn’t fake death.

Only then did he pull the Sea Serpent's Fang out.

On the other side, the furrier half-werewolfhad managed to stand up.

Despite having arrows lodged in its knee and throat, it was still able to rise!

Blood poured from the wounds since the armour-piercing arrows had a bleeding effect. The internal structure of the arrows had pores, making the wounds hard to heal and causing continuous bleeding. 

Suna frowned and aimed a few more arrows at its neck.

If she hadn’t wanted to preserve a whole brain, she would have already shot at the eyes. 

Eventually, the half-werewolf received a few more arrows to its neck, blood spilling everywhere, and it collapsed, unable to stand again.

“You drag this furrier werewolf closer. I’ll head back to the ship and use the grappling hook to pull it up,” Suna instructed, then quickly turned to run towards the raft.

Yang Yi approached the fur-covered half-werewolf, noticing it hadn’t died completely yet, though its breathing was growing weaker.

Given the amount of blood it had lost, there was no way it could survive.

Under Yang Yi’s watch, the half-werewolf finally stopped breathing.

He then dragged the body to a suitable spot on the shore and gave the Nightmare Star a thumbs-up.

The grappling hook flew in, precisely grabbing the half-werewolf’s corpse.
