Chapter 508: Team Promotional Event III
The game finally started, and the players darted across the screen as they tried to score against each other.
Unlike the quick back-and-forth that is usually present in football games, the game on the monitor was a lot slower and stable since it was being played by professional footballers who had enough patience not to burst forward, only to lose the ball a second later.
That did not mean it was boring though and the game progressed quickly enough to not bore the viewers.
Soon enough, Jason’s team opened the scoring, with the in-game Ronaldo connecting to a header from the in-game Cuadrado.
The goal unraveled almost exactly like it did in real life, and Jason’s team celebrated.
The viewers were also celebrating, especially the guys who had bet money on Jason’s team to win.
After skipping the replay, the game continued.
Since Jason didn’t usually play football, he wasn’t clear on skill moves in the game, and thus, all he had at his disposal were dash dribbling and straddle dribbling, and that was enough for Jason to display his gaming skills.
Whenever he was the character on the ball, he caused problems for Ramsey’s team and soon he got the ball on the left flank and dashed into the penalty box with his own character.Dribbling the ball between the two players who were in the way, he unleashed a curler, and the ball rolled into the back of the net in a manner that looked too easy, but Jason wasn’t complaining.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Up to this point, Jason hadn’t seen his in-game’s characters face and when his eyes finally fell on the frozen face of his in-game character, the joy from scoring the goal disappeared.
With the pace of a horror movie, Jason’s neck turned to the Conami company staff, and his message was evident in his eyes.
{‘Change that picture or you’re a** is grass’ ahh moment} Typeshi commented with laughing emojis all over his comment.
{‘This trip to Asia better have a stop at the Conami headquarters’ ahh look} Zurbluris commented as well, replying the earlier comment.
{‘This prize better include a character refurbishment or I’m burning Conami down’ ahh look} Ozen Ice commented as well.
Many more comments appeared as the viewers had fun translating Jason’s look into their own words.
The Conami staff member couldn’t see the comments, but he got the message clearly and turned away before Jason bore a look into him with his fiery stare.
‘These fuc*in…’
Jason was so pissed at how he looked like in the game.
‘That thing looks nothing like me!’ he wanted to shout, but he kept quiet and unleashed his anger in the game.
Ramsey’s team was the unfortunate recipient of Jason’s anger as he couldn’t say anything out loud about the game since the company was partnered with the club.
Even if he was only a loan player at the club, he still couldn’t do something to harm the club’s interests; otherwise, his own interests would be harmed in turn, as Jason was sure that the benefits the club was receiving from the Conami company weren’t small.
Ramsey’s team could only suffer the brunt of Jason’s annoyance.
By the time the first-half whistle was blown, Uventus was already seven goals up, while Bayern hadn’t managed to take more than three shots throughout the half.
The members of Ramsey’s team looked at Jason painfully.
‘It’s them, not us; why are we being beaten up like this?’ they wanted to cry out.
Unfortunately, Jason was only getting angrier by the minute because anytime the ball went in, the players would celebrate, and he would once again get a close-up look at the ruined face of his in-game character.
This would then fuel him into angrily scoring another goal, at which point he would once again get a close-up look at the character.
It had become a cycle of hate, and unlike in the real world, Ramsey’s team was the only one bearing the brunt of Conami’s actions.
Everyone else was having a laugh at their expense and the comment section had gone wild.
{Conami!!! Look what you’ve done. Poor Ramsey looks like he could cry} Martins commented, his comment over glazed with laughing emojis.
{Alex doesn’t look like he even understands what is going on. Bro is dazed} Audrey Marie commented.
{Jason looks so good even when he is angry} Anita Schmelzer commented.
{This one is just here to ride Jason’s dick} Magecrafter replied to Anita Schmelzer’s comment.
{Sign me up, Imma ride that boy till his legs fall off} Anita Schmelzer replied.
{Aiyoooooo wtf} Magecrafter commented, his mind blown by Anita’s answer.
{What is wrong with people these days?} Man_like_Diddy commented.
{Why are you the one asking that question, Baby Oil Monarch?} Zurbluris asked, replying to Man_like_Diddy’s comment.
{Is heaven no longer the goal?} Israel commented tearfully amidst the chaos in the chat.
While the comment section descended into chaos, the second half of the game began.
From the onset, it seemed like things were finally going well for Ramsey’s side, as they quickly scored two goals.
However, after scoring their second goal, Ramsey let the celebration run, and for some reason, the scene changed to some Uventus players looking disappointed.
As if like an unyielding curse, Jason’s in-game character popped up.
The game’s mechanics made him look sadder, and he looked even uglier than before. Jason’s dwindling anger lit up in even greater fury.
On seeing it appear on the screen, Ramsey immediately tried to skip it, but for some reason, it no longer skipped until the scene transitioned to a replay of the goal.
“This is set up! Set up!” Rabiot shouted in broken English, getting up and pointing at the Conami staff with an ugly, pained look on his face, but it was too late as Jason was already tearing through their defense right after the game kicked off.
While Jason began unleashing his fury anew on Ramsey’s team, the comment section had found something else to discuss.
{This is set up! Set up! – Rabiot, 2021} Ozen_Ice commented, unable to hold back his laughter and adding a lot of laughing emojis to his comment.
