I Have A Sword

Chapter 1070: I Will Always Have Your Back

Chapter 1070: I Will Always Have Your Back

Feeling the tremors of the Qingxuan Sword within him, Ye Guan cast a deep look at Fu Wu, utterly stunned. She was trying to find the limits of the Sword Dao in the Qingxuan Sword.

Although she couldn't harness the power within it, she had found a goal thanks to the sword. Now, all she needed was to keep moving forward in the same direction.

Clearly, the Qingxuan Sword had accepted her.

Just then, Fu Wu shot him a sharp glare. "Let go."

Ye Guan snapped out of his daze, realizing that he was still holding her hand. He chuckled and loosened his grip, but Fu Wu glared at him again, clearly unimpressed.

Ye Guan smiled warmly. "You should go back."

Fu Wu froze, her eyes fixed on him.

"Go back to the Tianxing Civilization," Ye Guan said sincerely, "Your sister may seem harsh, but she obviously cares about you. Don't let a small misunderstanding tear things apart. Go back and talk things over—you might be able to make peace."

He knew she cared deeply for her sister, Si Ying, and the Tianxing Civilization through her conflicted expressions. He had no intention of becoming a reason why there was a rift between them.

Fu Wu lowered her head, saying nothing.

Ye Guan encouraged her again. "Go on."

Fu Wu stared intently at him. "Your wounds are still serious. If you run into danger—"

"I'll lay low," Ye Guan replied with a smile.

"Lay low?"

"In the Milky Way, it means... I'll avoid any trouble that comes my way."

Fu Wu thought about it before nodding. "I'll take you somewhere safe, then."

Ye Guan looked around and shrugged. "Isn't this safe enough?"

"We're still within the Tianxing Civilization. If any of them come across you, they'll kill you."

With that, Fu Wu grabbed Ye Guan's arm, and they vanished, reappearing amid a vast starry sky. The universe region seemed to stretch infinitely, and the star's brilliant glow pervaded the horizon.

Standing amidst the stars, a humbling sense of insignificance washed over Ye Guan.

Fu Wu began to hum softly at the sight, and her voice was as delicate as a flowing stream of water. Ye Guan turned to watch her, enchanted by her soft humming. Fu Wu's face turned slightly red, and she stopped humming.

"Was that a melody from the Tianxing Civilization?" Ye Guan asked, amused.

Fu Wu nodded slightly.

Ye Guan chuckled, and then he suggested, "The Milky Way has beautiful songs as well. Want to hear one?"

Fu Wu shook her head firmly, but then she changed her mind. "You... sing one."

Laughing, Ye Guan launched into a tune. "Hug you there..."

The bold and daring lyrics from the Milky Way caught Fu Wu off guard, leaving her face flushed with embarrassment. Then, she delivered a playful punch that sent him flying.

Boom!

Ye Guan was blasted away, and a trickle of blood dripped from his nose.

Fu Wu silently sat beside him, nibbling on a hawthorn candy.

They were both lost in the comfortable silence.

After a long while, Fu Wu mumbled something under her breath.

Ye Guan turned, surprised. "What did you say?"

Head lowered, Fu Wu repeated softly, "I... forgive you."

Ye Guan's eyes widened, almost incredulous. "Forgive... me?"

"Yes."

Ye Guan's expression froze. She was the victim, yet she was forgiving him? It was hilarious, but the girl in a ponytail was a bizarre individual.

"That song," Fu Wu murmured, "was a bit... improper. Don't sing it again."

Ye Guan laughed, unable to deny it. Some of the Milky Way's songs did have a boldness that could be overwhelming to first-time listeners. "Alright, then. I'll sing something modest, okay?"

Fu Wu hesitated before nodding. "Sure."

Ye Guan searched his memories. The Milky Way had its share of direct, bold songs, but it also had elegant, poetic ones. He could see fragmented memories of him receiving the teaching of a girl named "Er..." or something.

Unfortunately, he couldn't remember her.

Ye Guan sang softly. "The brush outlines a beautiful pattern, brush strokes become lighter; the peony on the bottle, the epitome of simplest beauty; just like you[1]."

Compared to the last song, this one was much more refined, and it had a serene melody that captivated Fu Wu.

After a while, Ye Guan looked at her, smiling. "How was it?"

Fu Wu nodded slightly. "It's beautiful. But I want to change a bit of the lyrics..."

Ye Guan laughed. "Change them as you like!"

Fu Wu glanced at him and nodded.

Ye Guan made use of the peaceful days to heal and train. He was recovering slowly, and thanks to the Qingxuan Sword, his memories were coming back to him.

Meanwhile, Fu Wu's sword training grew more intense as her swordsmanship improved by leaps and bounds. She was a true prodigy, far beyond ordinary talent.

Between their practices, they'd sit and talk; Fu Wu's curiosity about the Milky Way led to endless questions. Ye Guan was amused, and he promised that one day he would take her to the Milky Way to experience its wonders.

Each time, Fu Wu would nod earnestly at the suggestion.

They traveled and trained together, feeling like they were on an adventure together.

Over time, Ye Guan discovered that beneath Fu Wu's cold exterior lay a warm heart, but her stubborn nature made her rather frightening whenever she was determined to do something.

One day, they passed through a universe boundary and entered a new starry region. Fu Wu halted, gazing ahead, and Ye Guan turned to her with a smile. "We're out of the Tianxing Divine World, aren't we?"

Fu Wu nodded, still silent.

"Head back," Ye Guan urged. "Once my memories are back, I'll return for you."

Fu Wu hesitated, glancing at him.

"I'll accompany you further," she said, her tone almost a whisper. "So you... won't get lost..."

Ye Guan chuckled at her excuse, but he let her be.

Fu Wu's fists were clenched as she tried to hide her embarrassment.

Under the vast starry skies, they strolled side by side. Ye Guan pulled out a skewer of hawthorn candy and handed it to her. Fu Wu accepted it and took tiny bites of it in an effort to savor its sweetness.

"The Qingxuan Sword..." Fu Wu suddenly raised.

"You like it?" Ye Guan asked casually.

Fu Wu nodded, captivated by the weapon.

Without a second thought, Ye Guan extended it toward her. "It's yours if you want it."

Fu Wu stared at him, stunned. However, she didn't reach for the sword. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Ye Guan ruffled her hair, smiling warmly. "It's not a joke. If you like it, take it."

"Why?" she asked.

Ye Guan shrugged. "Not everything needs a reason."

"Everything needs a reason."

"Okay, I will let you know the reason once I've come up with one."

Fu Wu pondered for a while before returning the sword.

"Do you not want it? Why?"

"I will let you know the reason once I've come up with one."

Ye Guan's smile froze, astonished by her reply. Just as Ye Guan was about to leave, Fu Wu extended her hand again, asking, "I want a hawthorn candy."

Ye Guan laughed and gave her a stick. Then, he gave her a storage ring. The storage ring contained many small souvenirs and snacks from the Milky Way.

Fu Wu accepted it silently.

Ye Guan looked around and said, "This is far enough."

Fu Wu nodded and watched him leave.

She stood alone, gazing at his distant figure as he vanished into the starry skies.

A trace of sadness flickered in her eyes. Finally, she glanced into the ring, exploring the items within until her fingers brushed a simple white veil. It was soft and plain, with no powers at all.

Just as she was about to keep exploring the storage ring, the surrounding spacetime trembled, and she looked up with a wary gaze.

Si Ying emerged from the rift in spacetime. A lady in a flowing green dress stood beside her, and the powerful elites of the Tianxing Civilization were standing behind them.

Si Ying's gaze was ice. "Where is he?"

Fu Wu spoke calmly, "Si Ying, he's gone. Let this end here."

"No," Si Ying said sharply.

Fu Wu's temper flared. "Can you not be so childish, Si Ying? Stop the tantrum. You're not a child anymore."

With a frosty glare, Si Ying commanded, "Find him and kill him."

Cingqi and the other fruits moved, chasing after Ye Guan.

Fu Wu's face darkened, and her eyes glimmered with fury.

"How dare you!" she snapped.

The fruits felt her fierce aura and shrank back.

Si Ying sneered at her. "Fu Wu, you obviously have feelings for that outsider."

Fu Wu's temper flared. She stepped forward and replied boldly, "Yes, I like him! We even slept together! Unhappy? So what? What can you do about it?"

The group of fruits went silent, stunned by her words.

Si Ying's face turned red with rage.

"Y-you scoundrel! I'll beat you to death!" she screamed, lunging at Fu Wu.

The two ladies clashed.

Si Huo and Feng Dong dashed in front of Fu Wu, placing themselves between the latter and the other fruits.

Rong Qiu looked worried and uneasy, but he dared not step forward.

Si Ying glared at Si Huo and Feng Dong. "Are you two rebelling as well?"

Si Huo held his ground. "Si Ying, Big Sister hasn't betrayed the Tianxing Civilization. You can't treat her like this."

Feng Dong nodded quickly. "Si Ying, don't go too far."

Si Ying laughed coldly. "Very well. Cingqi was right; it seems that I've been too soft on all of you. Attack!"

With her order, the group of fruits behind her charged at Fu Wu and the two.

Fu Wu's face hardened. Her eyes grew icy, and her fists were clenched tightly.

The air was thick with tension as a fierce battle erupted.

Rong Qiu stood on the sidelines, watching nervously.

One of the fruits shouted at him. "Attack them!"

Rong Qiu clenched his fists. Then, he took a deep breath and muttered, "Big Sister is not wrong, Big Sister is not wrong...

"Aaaah!" he shouted and threw himself into the fray.

However, Si Ying's forces outnumbered them. Despite their bravery, Si Huo and Feng Dong were quickly overwhelmed, and their fleshly bodies shattered under the attacks until only their souls remained.

Fu Wu's expression turned grim. She summoned a sword made from sword intent, and then she slashed out fiercely.

Si Ying was caught off guard. The blow sent her flying back, and several of the fruits, including Cingqi, had their fleshly bodies shattered by the force of Fu Wu's attack.

The other fruits were frozen in fear.

Si Ying looked at Fu Wu in shock and with a pale face. "You..."

Fu Wu glared back at her, her voice cold. "Si Ying, don't push me."

Rong Qiu stumbled over to Fu Wu, his face pale. "Big Sister, Gu Yun is missing."

Fu Wu's face changed, and her eyes narrowed. She turned to Si Ying. "You..."

"Fu Wu, Gu Yun has already captured that outsider. If you want him to live, surrender now."

Fu Wu's fury burned, but she held back. "Si Ying, he hasn't done any harm to the Tianxing Civilization. Why are you doing this?"

"Are you surrendering or not? Refuse, and I'll have Gu Yun kill him immediately."

Fu Wu's gaze was like fire as she tightened her grip on her sword. She looked around at the fruits surrounding her. She didn't want to hurt her own people.

Si Ying was acting out of anger, and a fight here would only make her more reckless. After a tense pause, she looked back at Si Ying and asked, "Do you swear to keep your word?"

"I'm not known for lying."

Fu Wu glared at her for a long moment, and then she let go of her sword.

The sword dissolved into nothingness.

Si Ying ordered, "Take her away."

With a flick of her wrist, two fruits moved forward to seize Fu Wu.

Si Ying then turned her gaze to Si Huo and Feng Dong, who were in their soul form. She sneered and remarked, "Take them to the Reincarnation Ancestral Stone."

Si Huo and Feng Dong were dragged away.

Then, Si Ying's eyes landed on Rong Qiu, who flinched under her gaze.

"Take him away," she ordered.

Rong Qiu didn't resist. They bound him and took him away.

Once the area was clear, Si Ying stood there, alone and silent. She looked down at the deep cut across her stomach, left by Fu Wu's strike. She said nothing, but tears fell down her face.

Swoosh!

Gu Yun appeared beside her, and his expression was tense. "He escaped."

Si Ying's face remained emotionless.

Gu Yun continued, "Shall we chase him?"

After a brief silence, Si Ying replied, "Find him, but don't kill him."

With that, she turned around and left.

A moment later, she arrived at a stone platform.

Rong Qiu was chained to the platform and couldn't leave.

Si Ying looked down at Rong Qiu and asked, "Did you see that man?"

Rong Qiu shook his head. "No... I didn't..."

Si Ying stared deeply at him before walking away.

The next day, another stone platform appeared near Rong Qiu. At the same time, Si Ying brought a man to this new platform and chained him as well.

Rong Qiu looked confused, and his face was full of questions.

Si Ying glanced at him briefly before leaving without a word.

In the vast starry sky, Si Ying looked down at Rong Qiu on the platform below.

"Are you mad at me?" she asked, "Well, let's see how mad you can get..."

With that, she turned around and vanished.

Si Ying walked up to the Tianxing Life Tree and demanded, "I want a pure fruit core."

The Tianxing Life Tree didn't hesitate, handing her a pure fruit core.

Si Ying accepted the fruit and was ready to leave when the Tianxing Life Tree's voice reverberated. "Si Ying, something's wrong."

Si Ying looked puzzled. "What is it?"

The Tianxing Life Tree's voice grew serious. "There's a strange disturbance in the Tianxing Civilization's timeline. Something feels... unnatural."

"Oh." Si Ying simply shrugged. Then, she turned around and left.

The Tianxing Life Tree was left speechless.

***

Fu Wu was imprisoned on a small island, isolated and alone.

She was sitting beneath a tree and was fiddling with the storage ring that Ye Guan had given to her. She found a few musical instruments inside of it.

Suddenly, Fu Wu felt something strange. She turned around and saw a lady dressed in green standing nearby. There was a gentle smile on the lady in green's face.

Fu Wu frowned. "Who are you?"

The lady in green smiled softly. "There's a problem here, and I'm here to fix it."

Fu Wu looked confused. "What kind of problem?"

"A problem with the timeline. The ending can't change, but the events leading up to it must be corrected. Otherwise, it will harm him and all of you. Forgive me, Lady Fu Wu."

With that, the lady in green raised a finger and lightly tapped the air. The next moment, Fu Wu froze in place, and her eyes gradually became filled with confusion.

A hint of sadness flashed in the lady in green's eyes. Then, in the blink of an eye, she appeared before the towering Tianxing Life Tree.

"Woah!" the Tianxing Life Tree gasped, "A true expert!"

The lady in green scanned the Tianxing Life Tree. "I'm impressed. You sensed the disruption in the universe's timeline. Not bad at all."

The Tianxing Life Tree grew cautious. "What are you trying to do? Let me tell you, the Reincarnation Ancestral Stone has many treasures, all from a Tier Seven Civilization. I think you should go to it."

The lady in green chuckled. "Relax, I won't harm you. I'm just here to fix the timeline and restore the balance."

The lady in green extended a finger and tapped lightly. At the same moment, the spacetime around the Tianxing Life Tree grew hazy and surreal. Moments later, the lady in green stepped forward, entering another spacetime.

She was here to investigate, and she traced the flow of time within the Tianxing Civilization. The history of the Tianxing Civilization flashed before her eyes like lightning bolts.

After a while, she raised her finger and whispered, "Stop."

The scene before her reflected the recent events in the timeline. A fruit named Jing Chu was about to die protecting Ye Guan when a man in a white robe and a lady in a plain skirt appeared.

Upon seeing the man in white, the lady in green's lips curved into a slight smile.

The lady in the plain skirt grabbed the man in white's hand and led him away.

Before leaving, the man in white stopped and turned to look at Ye Guan. Then, with a gentle smile, he said, "Don't stress too much. You can slow down a little."

Ye Guan smiled. "Okay!"

"Next time, you don't have to make a plea or anything. I will always have your back."

"Okay!" Ye Guan grinned.

The white-robed man said no more and held the lady in a plain skirt's hand as they disappeared. The lady in a plain skirt glanced at a certain point in the void just as they vanished into thin air.

The lady in green froze and then smiled knowingly. "So you still noticed me despite all my wardings?"
