I Play the Horror World as a Simulation Game

Chapter 121: Crying and laughing masks, the ghost that starves to death!

The employee's room wasn't large. Although it wasn't cluttered with trash, it was quite simple and cramped, giving the impression of a pigsty.

Qin Nuo lay down, his whole body relaxing into comfort, as drowsiness washed over him, urging his eyelids to battle against sleep.

"I wonder how Liao Shen is doing," Qin Nuo murmured to himself before drifting off to sleep.

With the Blood-Eyed Ghost around, Qin Nuo could sleep peacefully, unafraid of any ghostly disturbances like sleep paralysis or ghostly touches.

He slept until he naturally woke up.

Though it was said to be natural, he had only slept for a little over two hours.

The fatigue in the Horror World was reduced several times compared to the real world. Otherwise, during his time at Saint Yasi Asylum, he wouldn't have been able to work as a caregiver by day and a Player by night, resting only two hours a day for ten days straight. In real life, he'd either drop dead or end up in a hospital.

Sitting up, he checked the time.

There were still more than two hours before his shift started. Qin Nuo got out of bed, put on his employee uniform, and returned to the store early.

Inside the shop, the atmosphere remained eerie, yet business was booming, with ghostly figures coming and going, driving up the store's sales.

Taking advantage of the time, Qin Nuo began to wander through other areas of the store.

The second floor resembled a slaughterhouse, with various red meats laid out on chopping boards, the sound of chopping incessant. The floor was a vivid red, and the pungent smell of blood made Qin Nuo feel slightly suffocated.

"So this is the true face of the Horror World trading market," Qin Nuo muttered, covering his nose and mouth, avoiding pondering what kind of meat was on the boards.

A large influx of goods came in daily, mostly consisting of human body parts.

Where did they get so many bodies?

Shaking his head, Qin Nuo descended the stairs and headed towards the innermost corridor.

The rooms along the corridor were arranged in a circular pattern.

Qin Nuo scanned the nameplates on the doors and quickly found the room he was looking for.

The store manager's office.

Just as he was about to step towards the room, a cold voice came from behind, "An employee of the store?"

Turning around, he saw a ghost wearing a mask, its entire body covered by a black robe, staring straight at him.

The mask was peculiar, with drooping eyes and an upturned mouth, giving the impression of crying yet smiling, an indescribable eeriness.

"Stock clerk, why aren't you in the shelving area and instead wandering here?" The masked ghost stared at Qin Nuo's position badge on his chest, its words laced with commanding interrogation and a hint of malice.

Qin Nuo felt a moment of panic internally, but quickly suppressed it, explaining, "I'm the night shift stock clerk. After resting enough, I was just walking around the store to get familiar."

The masked ghost's gaze grew sharper, as sharp as a knife's edge, piercing into one's eyes, making it hard to meet its gaze.

It tried to detect a hint of panic or avoidance in Qin Nuo's eyes.

But unfortunately, there was none.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The masked ghost straightened its posture and coldly said, "This is not an area you should step into."

"If there's a next time, I'll erase you directly."

With that, the masked ghost passed through Qin Nuo, heading towards the back, quickly disappearing around the corner.

"What is this ghost's identity?" Qin Nuo wondered internally.

Then, he asked the Blood-Eyed Ghost, "If it had attacked just now, could you have handled it?"

The Blood-Eyed Ghost chuckled twice, "Why don't you catch up and find out?"

Qin Nuo rolled his eyes, said nothing, and walked out.

Time ticked away.

Soon, it was six o'clock.

Qin Nuo arrived punctually at the shelving area he managed.

The employee he was relieving disappeared as soon as the clock struck.

There was no dusk outside, only the white mist gradually fading, signaling the arrival of night.

Qin Nuo began skillfully stocking and organizing the shelves, cleaning them as well.

For a moment, he felt like he was entering a new instance!

The darkness began to suppress the store's lighting, obstructing his vision, with some corners completely engulfed in blackness.

Working in such an environment was a real test of one's psychological endurance.

Qin Nuo handed a ghost the items it needed, then saw a tall shadow moving along one side of the aisle.

It was the masked ghost!

Its body was covered by the black robe, blending into the darkness, appearing from afar like a white mask floating in the dark.

Seeing the ghost doll following the masked ghost, Qin Nuo immediately understood.

This masked ghost was the deputy manager.

The ghost currently holding the greatest power!

As it passed through the aisle, the masked ghost glanced at Qin Nuo, and the ghost doll behind it said something.

The masked ghost then left, heading to the next shelving area.

After the masked ghost's inspection, Qin Nuo continued nonchalantly cleaning the shelves.

"I still don't get what you're trying to do," the Blood-Eyed Ghost couldn't help but speak up.

"Going through all this trouble to sneak in, just to work for the enemy?"

"Don't rush. I've already figured out the store's layout. There'll be a good show tonight."

"Of course, I'll need your help, my good partner."

"Benefits," the Blood-Eyed Ghost said bluntly.

"Once the job's done, you'll get your share."

With that, Qin Nuo waved the feather duster in his hand, whistling as he went.

Seeing a customer looking confused, Qin Nuo approached them.

...

At one-thirty in the morning.

Qin Nuo was mopping the floor, which was covered in vomit.

Suddenly, a shelf in the corner collapsed.

The products scattered all over, rolling into the aisle.

Qin Nuo's expression darkened. Could it be another ghost courting death like the water ghost?

He picked up the mop and walked over, seeing a skeletal ghost sprawled on the food shelf, grabbing packets of food and stuffing them into its mouth.

This ghost truly embodied the phrase "skin and bones," with protruding bones, dark skin, sparse hair, resembling a dying old man.

It was like an addict, frantically grabbing the food with both hands, not caring about taste or edibility, shoving everything into its mouth.

Despite devouring so ravenously, its body showed no change, as if it were a severe anorexic, terrifyingly thin.

"A starving ghost?" Qin Nuo frowned.

"Customer, you can eat as much as you like, just pay for it. But could you eat more civilly? You're making a mess, and I'll have to clean it up."

The starving ghost didn't heed his words, continuing to eat while frantically shouting, "Hungry, starving! I'm going to starve to death!"

"If I don't eat, I'll starve to death!"

Watching its behavior, Qin Nuo suddenly worried whether this starving ghost could afford to pay for all it was eating.

"Who let a starving ghost in?"

"The store has a rule: no starving ghosts allowed. They'll eat everything in the store, and most importantly, they have no money to pay!"

A reprimanding voice came.

Qin Nuo turned to see the ghost doll standing by the shelf, staring intently at him.

Its tone was filled with scolding and anger.

But Qin Nuo saw a kind of pathological excitement in its eyes, as if it had finally caught him in a mistake...
