Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 575 Dragons' hideout

Rain and Seadir seemed like insects crossing the gargantuam hole at the bottom of the ocean… it didn't seem natural. It was like five hundred meters wide, after all. It was big enough to fit in a bunch of dragons all at once…

"What do you think that opened this?" Rain asked.

"I don't know. No one has been in this part of the ocean in thousands of years," Seadir said while looking around and checking that the hole was perfectly straight going down.

"I guess that is good. I can finally brag that I finally had the chance to explore something amazing," Rain said. "Jori can finally shut up on bragging about his adventurers dealing with pirates and sea monsters."

Seadir wondered if Rain was right in the head… it wasn't time to think about that, and he seemed too relaxed considering where they were… in the worst-case scenario, they would end up surrounded by a massive pack of sea dragons.

"Which reminds me, why your father didn't fight alongside those giant monsters that he used before?" Rain asked.

"Is this really the time to talk about that?" Seadir frowned. "... He assumed that bringing them would only make things more complicated… apparently he knew about the existence of those sleeping sea dragons, even though he didn't mention them."

It seemed that Seadrei's arrogance could be compared to the deepness of that hole. Who cares about that? Maybe Seadrei didn't have confidence in an all-out war… which was weird considering his usual demeanor.

In any case, the hole extended itself for around one kilometer… Rain couldn't think that a meteor would make a hole that straight, and at the same time, he hadn't heard anything in history books about a hole like that. He also didn't hear about Sea Dragons City, and that was what he found beyond the hole.

Beyond the gaping abyss that Rain and Seadrei had crossed, a colossal and mysterious spectacle awaited them. It was an immense, otherworldly dome, a structure that seemed to defy nature's design. The dome had a perfect, spherical shape, and its sheer scale left Rain with the clear impression that it had been excavated and carefully crafted rather than formed by natural processes.

The walls of the dome were smooth, their surfaces an enigmatic blend of shades ranging from deep blues to iridescent greens. The entirety of this remarkable structure gave off a supernatural, captivating glow, adding to its surreal beauty.

Inside the dome, Rain and Seadrei could observe a shocking sight. Hundreds of sea dragons moved gracefully through the colossal space. The dome was not populated with conventional buildings, but instead, there were towering structures that resembled natural coral formations. These towering structures served as the sea dragons' nests, where they slept, took refuge, and laid their eggs.

They appeared to be an organic and natural extension of the dome itself, adorned with intricate patterns and formations that enhanced their beauty. The sea dragons moved around these nests with a majestic and almost ritualistic presence.

"... Wow… how is this place so bright when everything else is dark outside?" Seadir asked.

"The coral is filled with mana and is emitting light thanks to it… just how much mana is in these?" Rain thought while looking around.

Rain wasn't the type to let many things surprise him, but he couldn't help it in that situation. In any case, they didn't have time to waste. Rain quickly approached the wall and began to use his magic to create a small tunnel… the walls were so hard thanks to the mana on it, but at least everything there was rich in mana.

In the end, Rain took a few chunks of it, sealed them in some boxes with air, and made them go upward beyond the hole that they just used.

"... I would be very thankful if you could focus on doing what we came here to do?" Seadir said. "Aren't you rich already?"

"I have some money, but you can never stop looking for riches in the form of knowledge," Rain said. "Besides, I have the feeling that all this coral and those spears have some sort of connection."

Seadir was left utterly speechless when Rain shared his thoughts about that. As he considered Rain's words, Seadrei's thoughts seemed to drift towards his own lineage and heritage. The revelation that the structures within the dome bore a resemblance to coral spears surprised him.

Now, with that image fresh in his mind, Seadir couldn't help but draw parallels to the spear he carried. His trusty weapon, particularly the spearhead, bore a striking resemblance to the coral that surrounded them. It was as if a piece of this awe-inspiring underwater world was inextricably linked to the very weapon he wielded.

The discovery left Seadir in a state of silent contemplation. Maybe one of his ancestors had been there before and took a huge chunk of the area to make their legendary weapons… in any case, they didn't have time to waste… Rain had already started the tunnel and was ready to seal it.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

When Seadir entered, Rain closed it and used a piece of the coral to illuminate their surroundings. Even though he couldn't see outside, Rain was able to keep digging while taking some pieces of the coral and storing them away. Seadir wanted to complain, but Rain seemed focused enough, so he didn't say anything.

"Man… what if I could arm the Raging Phoenix with shields and armor made of these… they would be unstoppable," Rain suddenly said.

Or maybe not… Regardless, before long, Rain changed the direction of the hole and began to move to the side. It seemed that they had already reached the floor of the city, and now they just had to find where Seadrei was.

"Do you know where you are going?" Seadir asked.

"I have an idea where Seadrei is, not in someone else's stomach," Rain said. "The old man probably made that sea dragon have one hell of a stomachache." Your next journey awaits at empire
