Chapter 948 Foreshadow of competation
[Eon's POV: ]
"Were you at the grand conference?"
We were still in the garden, and yet Captain Alpha was asking such a question when all of them were still present.
"Hmmm?"
"Captain Alpha?"
"The grand conference?"
We told them we wouldn't be reachable doing something important, we told them we would be gone for much longer, but right during our holidays, the grand conference took place.
'I expected some of them would suspect our connection to the grand conference, but I didn't think he would just ask me that outright like this.'
Not even Prince Alph or Tia had asked me that yet since they knew how complicated the matters related to the grand conference could be.
It was not easy to understand most of the things that their parents might have told them about this unique conference, and much of it might be somewhat connected to their restrictions, but it was common knowledge asking someone, anyone connected with this grand conference about anything related to it was useless.
"Do you think I would be able to confirm it even if we did attend that conference?"
They all should know about the restrictions since we were taught those things in this very academy.
Someone that attended the grand conference was bound by many complex established truths and information sharing of any kind of strictly restricted.
The leak of any kind of information might lead to some kind of complications later, that was perhaps the main reason I did not even think about all that after we stepped inside this garden.
"...I know there are restrictions, but it just makes sense, you know?"
This captain Alpha of the True dragons was one hell of a headache sometimes.
"Miss Luna?"
He was going down to a topic the rest of us knew was a little too sensitive for us to talk about at the moment.
"Yes. I'll take care of him."
So I had no choice but to ask Our close friend, Miss Luna, to drag him away.
"So…"
Luna took him away by his ear, and went to Rein who was having fun chatting with Zoe and the others.
'They knew we went to work, and we told them it was important work that we could not talk about.'
Others must have suspected this correlation a long time ago, but they weren't talking about it since their parents had actually attended that conference and had told them the kind of serious things that are talked about in that place.
This was not a simple or light topic, so… none of us really wanted to go into it at the moment.
"Where was I?"
"Talking about the new things of the new Sem."
"Right."
Us boys had gathered around and after the little greetings, we were talking about what to expect from the new semester that will begin today.
"We would have to start the game practices officially in this Sem."
The boys did not have a lot of things to talk about like the ladies. We knew most of the things that we might have done in our free time, and except for Ginger, who was getting engaged, most of our time was spent doing mundane things anyway.
There was nothing amazing like a new work experience that Tia had at Med's house, and there was nothing like handling an entire kingdom in the absence of its ruler that Luna had experienced.
We weren't even talking about the things that all of us might have heard from people that had attended the grand conference or the information that we might have obtained from the other sources related to the same…
"The Sem would be fast since the first term exams would take place in just a little over three months from now, so, the teaching will be fast paced as well."
In nice weather such as this one, there was nothing I wanted more than a new fresh start.
'The grand conference and those few moments at the end of the headmaster's presentation were just too much.'
A lot of unexpected things happened there, and a few fun days with Anna weren't enough to make me forget all those things.
"The competitions around the world won't be starting for a few months at least, but the moment our second year begins, we should look forward to at least three Grand events all around the world."
They were not simple things, pushing them at the back of my memory shelf is going to be difficult, but even more difficult would be dealing with the bitter taste of the fact that the demonic cultists that we were trying so hard to drive away were in fact going to stay in this world for a few more years.
'The world would have ended in a few years in certain circumstances, but if things go well, we would buy a few decades to this world, and in the time we have reclaimed, it would be our responsibility to get strong enough to counter the kind of threat that we are facing.'
The demonic cultists aren't going to disappear overnight or anything like that. They were still around us, in this academy, on this island, among us…
"The Roxanna empire's grand joint Magigames; Eastern empire's [Yunli dynasty]'s Tri-circle competition. And what's the third one?" Alf was interested in some of the games so this is going to be a fun experience for him.
"The Lutherop's Khairil Fest." And not just for him, this is going to be a big thing for all of us captains.
"The studying is going to be quite difficult this Sem, but from what I know, the portion this time is pretty much covered already. Unless the teachers start teaching the second year stuff, we shouldn't have any big difficulties with anything.
If anything, I think there will be something like free lectures where we will discuss how to write answers in the main exams, and how the points would be given."
The start of the academy and the first Sem is always the most hectic since the students are just getting familiar with the things, but after passing the first one, by the time the second Sem arrives, they get familiar with things.
Then, starting second year, the real battle begins for all students of the great academy of Hope.
"If we don't start training now, it will be difficult picking up the main team members from the following year…"
We will be discussing all this stuff when all the house captains gather, so this wasn't anything like an unofficial meeting of the boys.
The ladies were here and they were listening to the things.
They knew what their dumb boy freinds were chatting about, but they did not care about it.
"Hmmm. I think it will get difficult this time."
"We have time though, there's nothing coming up anyway."
The academic year was going to be pretty boring without any events or anything, but the fast paced studying and the preparations for the main exams will help us pass time.
"That's that…"
The classes this Sem will be the same as we chose for the first year so no changes to the classes.
The classrooms are going to be the same as well so nothing new about them either, but…
"Have you checked the forums and the message about the student festival thing?"
"Hmmm?"
We had been busy cleaning up our dorm and setting things up yesterday and this morning that we didn't even get to open the forums.
"Is there something we should check?"
The academy forums had been active even when we were away from the academy for the vacation and I had checked them up a few times already.
"Look at the new announcement that was just pinned by one of the teachers."
"...?"
The teachers didn't ping anything unless there was something worth noticing.
"Could it be…"
If a teacher was pinning something, it meant that it was an announcement for students only.
It wasn't the final results, it would be announced next week when the academy starts properly, so I knew it was something else instantly.
"What the hell…"
But there wasn't supposed to be anything coming up anytime soon now.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
'According to what I know, the academy, some other state around the world, or even some individual was not organising any special events anywhere in this world.'
The grand conference had just ended so nothing was supposed to be present on the forums.
"A fest?"
I have no idea who came up with this, what this was, or what was going to happen in this event, but according to the posts from one of the teachers- Class <C> homeroom teacher to be specific- the Academy was organising a festival specially for the students.
"Hey! Hey boys! Check out the forums!" Enjoy new chapters from empire
"A festival~! We are going to have a festival~!"
The festivals were a simple festive thing that was the same in this academy as any part of the world.
We would have a holiday, there would be food stalls, there would be some events, and there would be games!
All of that and along with them, there would be something unknown as well…
"The Academy doesn't hold a festival without any reason."
Throughout the three years of our student life on this island there were supposed to be only three festivals that are organised on a big scale.
'All of us know them as the three Season festivals.'
The headmaster's birthday that would come a month later, the blooming day of Sir Quesnel that was celebrated once every three years, and the Goldmoon festival.
Aside from these three, if there were actually going to be any events, then… I knew there was something fishy about it.
[{ "What's this all about, Eon?" }]
[{ "How would I know?" }]
This was news to me as well, but, I can tell this was somehow related to the grand conference.
'And if we are talking about the academy, then that last part of the headmaster's presentation still might be connected to it.'
