Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 950 A unique competition

[Eon's POV: ]

"Good morning, class."

Sir Jez looked just like he did the last we saw him… no wait. He looked much brighter than he usually is.

[{ "Did you find his fling? I really wanna know who's making him so happy." }]

Back to our classroom (I), seeing our homeroom teacher in a good mood was not really a bad thing.

But then again, seeing a Vampire in a good mood was a new thing for us… not that they couldn't be happy.

They also had all the right to be happy-.

[{ "Hey, Eon!" }]

"Hmm?"

I was lost in an unnecessary thought process. There was no need to think about the vampire society, their unique characteristics and stuff.

'Our homeroom teacher was happy right now, and it wasn't a bad thing in any way.'

Rein believed he was finally getting laid after a hundred years of drought.

He had never been married so he was pretty much a bachelor anyway.

Besides, he was only around three hundred years old. It was pretty much the same as teen age in vampire years.

[{ "I haven't found even a clue, dear. All I've found out after stalking him all this while is how he's happier after coming in and out of his personal space.

I'm not going to invade his privacy, so unless They make a move outside of their personal space, I don't think we will ever find out if there is any Spring water or not." }]

She knows I'm very strict about a few things.

'Celes and her special skill makes me one of the best stalkers there is, but even with them, I have some boundaries.'

Surveillance was acceptable unless we were talking about invading the privacy of someone just to see if they have a partner or not.

It wasn't ethical and even if it was fine, I have no interest in seeing who he's screwing unless it's a fellow original vampire.

'That would change everything. It would become a political matter.'

And that kind of tea is just too attractive. Even for me.

"I would like to talk about how your vacation has been and if you have fun or not, but as you can see, I'm in a good mood.

Let's not ruin it with unnecessary things."

Now this… is new.

[{ "Should we reconsider the fling angle? It seems there's something else to his mood." }]

You wouldn't announce you are in a good mood when more than half of the class doesn't even understand what kind of different expressions you make.

Especially if there is sex involved.

[{ "Hmm… perhaps this time. But, let's not eliminate the possibility that he might actually have someone from the students.

You know, the forbidden teacher-student love-." }]

[{ "You've been reading too much of those romance novels, Uriel. There might be something more to this.

For all we know, he might just have found something fun to do." }]

There's a lot of things that can make someone happy. A partner isn't the only thing… though it is what all the clues point to.

[{ "I'm telling you, it's possible. Tell him Celes." }]

[{ Hehehe, Sister Elle is right, master~. There Might be a possibility. }]

"Ptfff. Ahem."

I couldn't help it this time.

[{ "Celes! I thought you were on my side on this!" }]

[{ Hehehe~. }]

Anyway… talking about the love life of someone else is not appropriate when we are in the classroom, perhaps.

"I believe everyone has seen the notice already?"

He was happy.

That much was true at the moment.

"Our seniors will be visiting in three weeks, so we will have to get ready to greet them."

Perhaps his happiness had something to do with the people that would be coming, perhaps it was about something else.

We don't know, and logical deduction isn't really going to help much when we don't even know if the reason for this happiness and the reason for That happiness are the same.

"And, the competition mentioned in the announcement…"

A smile bloomed on his face.

"It's going to be a class competition, everyone."

And perhaps, the reason behind his happiness is exactly this.

"Please pay attention. This is going to be a fun part…"

-Snap!

-Oooooooooong!

The white board behind him blew with a red light and in an instant, the unique picture of something that seemed to be similar to a blueprint appeared on the board.

"We are all given the task to create something that encases the essence of the great academy– a model of something very important that has been part of the academy since the founding ceremony."

The first blueprint was just an example so following the first one, a couple few also passed through the screen and came out of the board in the form of a three dimensional design.

"Each class will work on it together, so we aren't talking about a small modal size thing but something that actually showcases the greatness or grandness of that object, or individual."

As he was saying, the competition part seemed to be something real. But the fact that this whole festival was being celebrated in the memory of the founders was all BS.

'We don't celebrate festivals in the name of the founding Masters. They never wanted to be remembered so they made rules that their names would not be associated with the academy directly.'

They were the creators of the four original houses, so they had already left an immortal memory for the future generations.

"First of all, we homeroom teachers will take suggestions from our class and then decide on what we are going to make, then we will gather together for the following three weeks after classes and make that model."

I can pretty easily understand why he was so excited about this whole competition thing now.

It seems to be the main factor that had excited him in the first place.

"The classes will be shorter for the time being, however the total lecture time will be covered overall so do not worry about that.

Furthermore, there will be prices for the first three places that would be decided by the combined votes of all the judges, so you should look forward to some cool things not limited to the Class points.

We might even get some personal gifts from them as well."

He was talking about gifts and rewards but it didn't seem like he was interested in those things.

He was more excited about the competition itself.

"They will judge the model based on three main factors: It's connection to the academy, it's importance to both the academy and the students, and its importance in the student lives."

These were the limitations, which means we will have to do all the work with these criteria in mind.

[{ "Hey, wait. Won't that limit the things that we can make? Like, there are 12 classes but I don't think there are that many important things in this academy castle that actually matters to both the students and the academy." }]

[{ "Not really." }]

Even if we don't don't count the obvious candidates like the academy castle, the garden's model, or sir Quesnel, we for sure have a good number of things that we can make and present in our own way.

[{ "We don't really have to make them as they are either. The creativity and functionality will matter as well." }]

He hasn't said it yet, but I am pretty sure they don't want to see just a model of something that still exists in the academy.

'If we are talking about the past graduates of the academy that are now in important positions in this world, we most certainly are talking about things that matter a lot to those older batches collectively.'

Academy has always supported a unique, unconventional method of presentation in any test or task.

There was no way they just wanted us to make a replica of something that's already present out there.

"And this is the most important part…"

The excited expression on Sir Jez's face turned into a unique seriousess.

"We will have to make it match the EME standard. Thus, the bigger model we make, the more refinement we will need, and the more refinement we need, the more details we will have to add."

"..."

"...?"

"Teacher…?"

[{ "Oh lol…" }]

[{ "See, I told you there would be something like this." }]

Established Masterpiece Equivalent standard, the standard used to recognize any artistic creation as a masterpiece.

It was a standard following an age-old set of rules that were recognised globally by most of the organisations involved in artistic creations.

'Be it drawing, painting, music, dance, artifact creation, magic formula creation, weapon arts, or any simple artistic form like poems. There is a set standard that is recognised as the pinnacle of human creativity.'

Just meeting it is a task most masters or even grandmasters of this world cannot achieve, but they wanted to make it?

And that too in just the free time we get during these three weeks?

[{ "This is a challenge that some might not be able to complete." }]

[{ "And that's why he is even more excited about this whole thing, I think." }]

A challenge.

'He was a vampire as well as a Master when it came to Creation magic, one of the rarest artforms that only talented and blessed individuals born with the power of Creation could master.'

Presented with a challenge such as this, it was obvious he would be excited to show his fellow teachers what he was capable of.

"I know this is going to be a difficult task, everyone…"

He looked at each one of us with a powerful, confident gaze.

"But I am certain we can achieve this."

It will be difficult, very difficult if I say so myself.

But, yeah…

'With the help of so many talented classmates, it shouldn't be impossible to create a masterpiece.'

We might even get to place it in the [Gallery of Epitome].

'That would be a great achievement if it truly happens, hahaha~.'

But I know it's a long shot.
