Mercenary Harem in Murim Novel

Chapter 185 – Doing His Part

The Elders didn’t hesitate and grabbed Leo’s hand. He pulled them up and they climbed the ladder. A total of 6 Elders were rescued, and they sat weakly on the dock.

"Chiaki, get out of here quickly. The enemies are coming." Leo said to the girl who was piloting the vehicle.

"Yes, Leader."

The vehicle moved away from the explosion and shot toward the sky. It was fast and agile, and no one could follow it. In 2 seconds, it pierced through the cloud and disappeared from everyone’s sight.

"Ah, I didn’t know that vehicle could fly. What kind of technology did you use?"

"A secret." Chiaki answered with a cold face. She put the aircraft into an autopilot mode and rose from her seat, approaching the Elders. "More importantly, give me your blood. Put it in this tube and make sure it reaches the line. Don’t ask any question if you want to be cured."

She gave them a tube and a needle. She also gave them a small bottle with a green liquid inside.

"This is a nanite solution. It will keep the poison inactive until I analyze and find the antidote. It’s not completely safe and will give you a fever, but it’s the only thing I can do right now."

Continue your saga on empire

"Understood. I’ll do it." Yuang Li nodded and took the needle and the vial with green liquid. "Thank you for saving us, Mr. Leo. We thought that we were going to die in that place. That demon... He’s insane. We can’t even begin to understand what he’s planning."

"No need to thank me. It’s just a job." Leo answered, "Now we will take you to a safe place to recover. After that, I’ll need your help to defeat Kang Jian. He’s planning on reviving Supreme Evil, and we need to stop him."

"Supreme Evil?! That monster?!"

The Elders couldn’t believe what they heard. But it made sense.

The miasma around the Alliance Headquarters was so thick and poisonous that it almost suffocated them. And if there was something that could produce that much miasma, it was Supreme Evil.

But they didn’t have time to worry about that. They needed to recover their strength and help Mr. Leo defeat Kang Jian and his group.

"We will help." The Elder whose hair turned white nodded, his eyes firm. "We have to stop that man before he becomes worse. I... I-I won’t be able to forget that horror before my death. I will make sure he pays for everything he does."

The other Elders nodded, their eyes dark and determined. They wouldn’t let Kang Jian get away with this.

They were martial artists, and they had pride and honor.

They would rise again and fight against evil.

So, they used the needles to collect their blood and drank the green liquid. Just as Chiaki had said, the side-effect in the form of fever soon kicked in.

But it was a small price to pay for the hope of saving the world from Supreme Evil’s revival. They could feel their Qi pathway being unblocked and their strength returning.

"This is amazing." Yuang Li couldn’t help but be surprised. He didn’t think that they could recover this fast. "This nanite solution is very powerful. H-How expensive is this elixir? We can’t afford it."

"No, don’t worry about that." Chiaki shook her head and waved her hand. "It’s on the house, part of the payment you will have to pay later. Anyway, don’t bother me now. Be a good grandpa and sit there until we arrive."

She was talking to the white-haired Elder. He was an old man, and his Qi was unstable. His hair and beard were so white that it looked like snow.

But when he heard her words, he smiled slightly.

"I will. You reminded me of my daughter when she was young. She was stubborn and always bossed everyone around, but she was kind and never asked for anything in return. Thank you for your kindness, young lady. I appreciate it."

"Yeah, yeah. Just sit there."

Chiaki shrugged and turned around. She didn’t like being praised or being looked at. She just wanted to do her job and finish this mission.

And this was a simple one.

Leo watched the situation quietly, a smile on his face. Then, he looked at the map showed through his smart lenses. He saw that some Sects had already gathered around the Capital and were preparing for war.

They had sent their warriors, their elders, and their leaders to stop Kang Jian and his group. And because Kang Jian had spread his troop around the Capital and the surrounding area, it was hard for the Sects to move freely.

As a result, they got blocked before they could advance to the headquarters. Many black-robed warriors from the Supreme Evil’s Followers also attacked them, and the battle soon started.

Seeing it, Leo suggested to Chiaki.

"Go past the battlefield on the East Gate. I need to test the weapon."

"Understood, Leader."

"Raise the elevation slightly, Chiaki. We will be found if we fire the weapon at this elevation."

As the navigator, Jessica gave out direction. Chiaki nodded and raised the vehicle’s elevation to a safe level. She was familiar with the weapon and the vehicle, and she had tested it several times in simulation.

It was a powerful weapon that could destroy anything in its path, but she had to make sure that it didn’t damage the vehicle or friends.

Leo sat on his seat and his bodysuit changed, putting on a helmet that got connected to the vehicle. He could see the battlefield below and the enemies from the camera feed on his smart lenses. In the middle of his vision, a crosshair appeared.

It was a targeting system that showed him the distance and the enemy’s position.

"This is awesome." He muttered, his eyes sharp. "Chiaki, lower the elevation slightly. This will work."

"Yes, Leader."

The vehicle lowered its altitude, and Leo readied himself. His Qi was swirling around him, and he could feel his power and determination rising.

It was time to show Kang Jian what he was capable of.

He activated the weapon and aimed at a group of black-robed warriors who were guarding the only path to the East Gate of the Capital. They had formed a wall with their bodies, and it would be hard for the Sects to get through.

Leo didn’t care about that. He had the power and the weapon to destroy everything.

"Power output... Set to 50%."

He muttered, his eyes narrowed. He didn’t want to destroy everything, but he also wanted to make sure he could control the weapon well.

"Target the middle of the enemy’s line."

Slowly, he moved the crosshair to the most crowded part of the enemy’s formation.

"Firing."

A loud bang echoed in the air as the railgun shot a metal projectile at a speed that broke the sound barrier.

In less than a second, the projectile arrived and exploded into a fiery explosion infused with lightning.

It was like a nuke going off. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The explosion was so big that it turned the enemies into nothing but flesh and blood. The ground shook, and the air turned black and filled with smoke and dust. Lightning crackled inside the dust, electrifying everyone who was close to it.

The power was so overwhelming that the enemy couldn’t even scream.

Leo looked at the result and nodded.

"Power output... Raise to 70%."

He wasn’t satisfied with that result.

At least he only destroyed 40% of the enemy’s formation. He wanted to deal more damage and create a gap for the Sects to advance.

So, he raised the power output again.

And once again, he fired.

The second projectile shot out, and it was even more powerful than the first one. It hit the backline of the enemy, destroying everything in its path and creating a huge hole on the ground.

Soon, dust and earth rose from the explosion and covered the battlefield, creating a cover for the Sects.

Using the microphone built in on the aircraft, Leo shouted.

"ATTACK!"

His voice was loud and clear, and the warriors from the Sects who had been standing in shock finally saw an opportunity.

They didn’t know who had shot those powerful explosions, but they were grateful that someone had come to help them.

So, they didn’t waste time and charged toward the gap created by the explosion. When they got closer, Leo retracted his Qi and made the lightning disappear.

"Go, go, go!"

The battle continued, and Leo looked at it with satisfaction. He didn’t have to do anything else, so he just sat there and let the Sects do the fighting.

"Let’s take the Elders to a safe place now." He leaned back in his chair and turned to Chiaki.

"Yes, Leader."

The vehicle flew away from the battlefield, and they didn’t care about the battlefield anymore. He had done his part, and now it was the turn of everyone else to do theirs.
