Chapter 329: Sneaking Inside



The whole night passed, and the morning's bright light illuminated the throne room.

The five guild masters were still fighting the endless clone army. Whenever the clones died, King Moriarty kept summoning more and more.

It was like he had limitless mana ocean!

At the basement, Aemon's and Zephyr's fight had raged on for a long time. They were both injured and exhausted.

However, they kept going and going.

"Huff, huff!" Alistair breathed heavily. 'If Adam left right away, he should already be at Chastity Land. We must survive somehow...'

Chastity Land, Gold Road Street.

Through the beautiful streets of Chastity Land, the early birds were already out and about, enjoying the peaceful morning air.

Among them, sitting on a bench, Adam with sunglasses over his eyes was drinking a cup of refreshing soda with a straw.

There was a tourist guide in his lap, and ahead of him, behind the gated wall, stood a tall, five-story building that wasn't any smaller than a mansion.

This whole neighborhood was clearly for those who were immensely wealthy. It was also extremely guarded, with security cameras everywhere and bodyguards stationed at every entrance.

The most guarded house, Moriarty Residence, was a fortress. No one was allowed to go anywhere near its wall or the gate, or they might get shot!

'Bothersome.' Adam kept drinking the soda, but behind the sunglasses, his eyes were scanning for any weakness in the security.

However, there didn't seem to be any!

'This place is also protected by Z Package. If I go anywhere near the house, its security system will fill me with bullet holes.'

Adam pulled out his phone and put one earbud in his ear. He then opened an app that connected with his home's security system.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Hera, can you hear me?" He whispered.

[Hera: Yes, I can, master]

The feminine robotic voice sounded in his earbud.

"I'll need some help to bypass the security system. Is there any weakness?"

[Hera: I can't possibly help you. That is against my programming]

"Think of it this way." Adam looked over to the house. "Your job is to keep me and my family safe, no matter what. Won't you like to know if there're any weaknesses that you can fix to keep us safer?"

[Hera: ... Your manipulation is effective. However, if I knew there were any weaknesses, I would've already fixed that. Thus, I don't really know if there are any weaknesses]

"That's fine." Adam said. "I'll try to make a weakness. Where is this system's power source located?"

[Hera: It is within the compound, buried in the ground. If you step a single foot in that compound, the security system will shoot you]

"Are there any power boxes that the system is connected to?" Adam asked. "Preferably a power box that is outside the compound."

[Hera: There is... west of the compound, near the fence, on the sidewalk]

"Alrighty." Adam stood up, put the tourist guide between his armpit and arm, and walked casually down the street.

A few joggers greeted him, and he greeted them back with a nod and smile.

When he reached the west side of the compound, he found the power box that was right beside the sidewalk.

However, there were a couple of bodyguards walking, and they would immediately notice if he was trying to do something.

"How long will the power of the security system stay out?" Adam asked with a whisper.

[Hera: Ten seconds]

"Will Moriarty's virtual pod also get disconnected?" Adam asked.

[Hera: No. That is connected to a different power source]

"Good." Adam slowly walked and saw the bodyguards turn around for a moment.

Without further ado, he opened the power box, retrieved his red-handled knife from his jacket, and cut through its wires.

The sparks flew, and he immediately closed the box.

Behind him, the compound turned dark.

With a strong leap, Adam jumped over the wall, and while the bodyguards still stayed outside

the gate, he rushed to one of the open windows and jumped inside the building.

He was inside a small kitchen with a window that faced the backyard.

[Hera: Enter the storage; that is the only place without sensors]

Adam ran quickly and slipped inside the storage. At the same moment, the power turned back

on.

Inside the storage, he let out a deep sigh.

"The easy part is over..." He whispered. "A small mistake and I will die..."

[Hera: You're now trapped. If you step outside the storage, the security system will notice

you. If you stay here, one of the kitchen staff will find you]

"Y'know, I've found a big weakness in these security systems."

[Hera: What is it?]

"Let's say I wear a bodyguard outfit. Do you think I can sneak inside this place?"

[Hera: Obviously no. I would scan your face at the entrance and find out whether you're

working for Moriarty]

"That's right. At the entrance." Adam smiled. "Now that I am inside, the security system will think that they've already scanned me and that I should belong here."

[Hera: ...]

"I, of course, need a staff outfit to fool the security system like that. If I wear my current clothes, I will obviously get discovered."

[Hera: You will wait for a member of the staff to come here?]

"No, too risky." Adam said. "What if more than one comes? If even one alarms the security

system, I will die."

[Hera: Then what...]

"Can you get me the phone number of one kitchen staff member that is working here?" Adam asked. "At least one of them must've bragged about working at Moriarty at some point."

[Hera: Why not bodyguard? If you could get a bodyguard outfit, it would be beneficial]

"I'll need to knock down the person quickly. I don't think Moriarty would hire anybody to be their bodyguard. They'd want someone tough and experienced."

[Hera: Alright. I will check the internet]

With minutes flying by, Adam pressed his ear against the door in case there was any

movement outside.

At last, Hera spoke again.

[Hera: Found one. A junior staff member. He'd been bragging to his ten followers about

working to Moriarty]

"How credible is he?" Adam asked.

[Hera: He got photos]

"Give me his phone number." Adam said, and at that moment, a phone number popped up in

his phone.

As he cleared his throat, he pressed the phone against his ear and called the number.
