It's words turned into gibberish, and then the robotic male voice disappeared altogether.

[Hera: I've taken care of him. I am now in the control of the security system]

Hera's robotic voice came from the walls.

"Good." Adam pushed the bodyguard to the corner. "If you make a move, the security system will kill you."

The bodyguard raised his arms in surrender.

Adam headed to the virtual pod, and while the glass lid was foggy, he could tell that there was someone lying there.

'Moriarty...'

At Castle Rock's throne room.

As Moriarty was about to sit down on his rocky throne, he suddenly received the final warning from his security system, Aurel.

[Aurel: You're under attack!]

"?!" Moriaty's eyes widened open. "I must go!"

"Huh, where?" Aria asked.

Without receiving an answer, Moriarty pressed the log-off button.

Within the secret room, the glass lid slid open, and Moriarty slammed his eyes open. As he was about to climb out, a sharp blade suddenly appeared near his throat.

"Don't you make a move, traitor."

"..." Moriarty turned to look at his attacker. "Adam..."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"I didn't think you expected this." Adam said.

"Well, I didn't think it was impossible." Moriarty scoffed and looked at the monitored wall. "I gave Aurel the order to kill everyone if I was even slightly threatened. You can't trust anyone these days."

"You have a worse version of this security system." Adam said. "My Hera is superior."

"I should've upgraded." Moriarty clicked his tongue. "Well, shit."

"Get out," Adam said while keeping the blade close to his throat.

Moriarty slowly climbed out and put his arms up in surrender.

"You're planning to kill me over that game?" Moriarty laughed. "That's crazy."

"And you haven't?" Adam asked. "I know your hands are stained with blood. I know you sent those men to kill me."

"You seem to know a lot." Moriarty chuckled. "You caught me."

Adam narrowed his eyes. 'Why isn't he scared? I am about to kill him, but he acts like he is in control. What arrogant fellow! An act?'

"Before you kill me, let me try to convince you not to."

"I doubt you can do anything that will stop me." Adam said. "However, I let you waste your breath."

"I am a careful man, y'see." Moriarty chuckled. "I have taken precautions to ensure my survival."

"Oh, is that so?"

"The Gathering." Moriarty smiled. "Was your meeting with sweet Lady Yu nice?"

"What're you talking about?" Adam frowned.

"I got her to go to the Gathering so she can capture your heart." Moriarty said. "It worked beautifully. The Orb of the Future never lies."

"The Orb of the Future?" Adam's expression looked ugly.

"Yeah." Moriarty licked his lips. "The Orb of the Future allows me to ask one question once a year. It leaves me very exhausted afterwards.

"However, as soon as I received a word that a new S-ranker appeared, I asked the Orb of the Future who will be your soulmate in the Mortal Online.

"The soulmate thing, while cringy, actually exists in Mortal Online. Those who are soulmates are unable to resist each other.

"I was surprised when it said Lady Yu. A woman who hates men. I really don't know how you were able to do that.

"I've been courting her for years, but it looks like she doesn't like that I already have a harem of over hundred women.

"She thinks I am disgusting. Oh well.

"..." Adam's expression turned angry.

"Do you know a guy named Kanari?" Moriarty asked with a smirk.

"Yes..." Adam said angrily.

"He is a clone of me." Moriarty laughed. "And before you say that he looks nothing like me, even though he is a powerful clone, I used the Flesh Mask of Abromossa on him.

"It allows the user to change someone's appearance completely. Even right now, Kanari is with Lady Yu at that monastery.

"If I don't contact him soon, he will kill her."

"I see." Adam said coldly. "You planned to use her as hostage."

"Now, the question remains..." Moriarty looked into his navy blue eyes with a smirk. "Do you care about her enough to not kill me? After all, she is nothing but a fake bitch."

Adam punched him in the face and sent him flying to the ground.

"Hahaha!" Moriarty laughed while blood flowed out of his nose. "Did I hurt a sore spot? It's true though. She is not real. None of those Originals are!

"Their feelings are fake. That's why it doesn't matter what you do to them. It's not like they

will actually feel anything."

"What a shitty situation, it seems." Adam looked at his red-handled knife, walked to

Moriarty, and pulled him from his gold-blond hair.

"?" Moriarty frowned. "You will actually kill me? I guess you didn't really care about that bitch, after all? Did you have a good fuck with her at least? That's why you already got bored

of her?"

"If I kill you now, I could rush to one of the virtual reality bars, rent a booth for myself, and rush to the monastery.

"The monastery is split into two sections. Male and female sections. I am sure Kanari doesn't

have actual contact with Lady Yu there.

"The nuns there don't allow that. They're very strict about that, y'see.

"If you don't contact him in..." Adam checked the time on his watch. "Probably in thirty minutes, right? He will try to reach Lady Yu and kill her.

"He doesn't want to get discovered, of course, because if the abbot finds out, he'll throw Kanari out of the monastery.

"I took Lady Yu there for a reason. The abbot of that monastery is Grand Lord. It will take Kanari quite a bit of time to actually reach Lady Yu without getting noticed.

"I might have two to three hours to reach the monastery to stop Kanari.

"You think I can't do that, bastard?"

"..." Moriarty's expression changed. "I've got other plans. Rawkshawn's army of Crazed Angels is waiting outside the village where Zestruction has their headquarters.

"If I don't contact them soon, they'll rush there and kill fucking everyone!"

"Who do you think I am?" Adam touched Moriarty's throat with the knife. "You're underestimating me. I am Grand Lord now."

'Grand Lord?! How?' Moriarty's eyes widened in shock.

The knife went through the thin sheet of flesh, and blood began to trickle down Moriarty's

neck.

"Today, the King dies."

Moriarty's eyes widened in shock as the life started to slip away from his body.
