Chapter 408 Going to the Mysterious Island
408 Going to the Mysterious Island
It was a normal sunny day with irregular clouds in the sky, and the warm sun hung brightly, illuminating a vast sea.
In the centre of this sea was an island with a lone pineapple tree standing tall.
A bulky figure, covered in robes and wearing a capybara mask, slowly gazed at his own reflection in the water as the waves approached, almost touching him.
Silently, he jumped, avoiding the waves so they wouldn't even touch his feet.
He looked up and made out a faint shadow of another island in the distance.
At that moment, someone called out, "Brother, are you new to this place?"
The cloaked figure turned his head to see four individuals: three males and one female.
The female figure wore a fox mask, while the other three sported individual masks: a panda, a dog, and a pig.
The one who had called out to him wore the panda mask.
The cloaked figure remained silent.
"Haha, you must be really new. You managed to avoid touching that water; it's filled with poison from hell. Even a Tier Eight Wizard wouldn't be able to resist it for long, though you seem to have…" The panda-masked figure paused. "the presence of a peak Tier Seven. Are you sure you can enter?"
The black-cloaked figure continued to gaze silently at the horizon.
"Really, brother? I was just trying to help you…" The panda-masked figure casually shrugged his shoulders.
Then everyone fell silent, with no one speaking a word as they patiently waited.
After some time, the shadow of a boat finally appeared.
There were ten individuals in the boat, and at the forefront sat an old man wearing a straw hat. He chewed on a leaf as he rowed the boat at an extremely slow pace.
Finally, after an hour of waiting, they reached the shore, and everyone disembarked, handing a small stone to the old man.
The black-cloaked figure silently sat behind the old man, slumping his shoulders as if resting.
The four figures also remained quiet as they boarded the boat, which then returned to the sea in complete silence.
The old man's rowing was painfully slow as they drifted toward the island.
"Sister, why is he rowing the boat so slowly? It's nerve-wracking," the dog-masked man whispered to the fox-masked woman.
"You think he's going slow?" the fox-masked woman muttered softly. "You can't use spells after entering the sea, but you can see through it using the special eyes that Father gave you."
"Hmm."
The dog-masked man lowered his head in silence. The next time he looked, his pupils had turned purple as he peered at the sea.
"What!?"
The shock on his face couldn't be hidden. Looking up at everyone, who remained silent, he scratched the back of his head and wearily sat down again.
The backs of his sleeves trembled slightly.
This sea wasn't normal water; instead, he saw a deep darkness filled with countless stars that they were crossing.
"We are actually crossing into another space!"
Soon, they reached an island; it took an entire twenty-four hours to reach this place, but the day was still sunny and there were barely any clouds hovering in the sky.
The moment they reached the island, the black figure silently slipped away.
"What's his problem? Does he think he is a big shot just because he is a peak Tier Eight wizard?" The dog-masked man spoke with an unpleasant expression hidden beneath the mask.
"It doesn't matter, brother; we are only here to do our job."
As they all went to the island, the old man slowly turned his boat around before giving a final glance at the black-cloaked figure.
"Interesting, Brat, we have it here."
Then he slowly rowed his boat back to the sea.
"Hmm?" The black cloaked figure came to a secluded place and heaved a sigh of relief: "Luckily nobody found out." He mumbled in his heart.
Of course this figure of the capybara mask was Aur himself, and this was the mysterious island.
Here Tier Seven or Eight wizards trade on a daily basis as they couldn't use any spells here, making it an ideal place. They could also disguise themselves, and their presence was hidden until shown.
"Hmm?" As Aur looked around the place, there were numerous street stalls of sorts in the sandy ground, and they were selling numerous items, from slaves to even spells.
These people were also wearing numerous masks, and their presence was hidden. Aur actually slightly leaked his fake presence just to those groups of people; otherwise, they would have no way to find it out.
He went directly to a small shop. The shopkeeper was an old man with only one leg, and he was wearing an eyepatch over his left eye.
Seeing Aur, he didn't speak much, just glancing at an empty paper.
Aur also looked around the shop. There wasn't much; in the back of the old man there were some prisons with humans and demihumans all locked up and chained together.
There were also some words written on the forefront, but no item was presented to back it up with the prices written.
"World Essence Stone, huh?" He muttered in his heart. There were Tier Six spells and a bunch of artefacts, but he couldn't see a single item that was Tier Seven or higher.
"Tier Seven spell is not something that could be bought, but I thought there would at least be some artefacts."
Aur looked around for a long time, and the vendor already seemed to be a bit annoyed.
"Are you going to buy it or not; if not, then get away."
"Do you have any Ether Stones?" Aur looked up at the vendor silently with his crimson gaze.
"Ether Stone?" The man was stunned before he started to laugh off "Ether stones are rare materials and cannot be found in our small shop. You would have to go to the bigger shops handled by those mighty Tier Eight if you want to find it."
"Thanks."
Aur walked off. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
