Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 249 | 249 | The Battle for Servusarator: Minos Rebellion Part 5

Above the azure heavens of the western region of Servusarator, a lone AC-130 Gunship soared through the empty skies with a destination in mind. It had been sent to support a forward vanguard company of the United Military, and dismantle the rebel armored convoy heading towards the Forward Operating Base.

Inside the heavy gunship, the CSO(Combat System Officer) opened a letter directly from the Citadel. It was brought along with him after the short briefing regarding the air support of the western region. Dozens of thoughts passed through his mean as he slowly read the letter.

His eyes squinted as his gaze shifted from left to right. The contents within the letter was straightforward. It was a special order from the Citadel, which was to drop a newly-developed weapon above a nearby enemy military camp. The weapon was created by the R&D Department, its capabilities supposed to bring about total destruction of the area without the risk of fallout.

The bomb had already been transported alongside with them, and the Citadel expected a live footage of the drop zone before the explosion. It was a lot, but it wasn't impossible to do. Though, employing a newly-developed weapon on a battlefield might be too much.

It wasn't uncommon to test the effects of all-kinds of weapons within live battlefronts. After all, a war zone was the best experimental area for the Military Industry.

After a short while, the CSO closed the letter and glanced at the WSO(Weapon System Officer) beside him. "It looks like we still have a lot to do after supporting the forward vanguard company." He remarked, earning the attention of the WSO.

"Another mission, huh? I didn't hear any briefing about it." The WSO was confused as he hadn't heard anything about a second operation amidst their current mission. The CSO sighed and briefed WSO about the contents within the letter. It took a moment, but the WSO soon nodded in understanding.

"Alright, that makes sense. But a new bomb? I thought we could already dominated everyone in the battlefield?" The WSO uttered, wondering about why the United Military was quickly developing military technology in times of peace. While the question made sense, the CSO already knew of the answer.

'This world is far different than our former one. It is a world with magic, and as long as magic exists, technological dominion doesn't matter. It is for this reason why the R&D Department is working hard in integrating magic technology to the United World Government.'

'After all, magic itself breaks our current understand of physics. It doesn't make sense and doesn't abide the natural law.' The CSO thought to himself and didn't answer the question of the WSO. It wasn't their job to keep questioning the decisions of the higher-ups.

As long as there wasn't a significant fuck-up, then there was no need to keep asking.

"Why the bomb was developed doesn't matter. The only thing we need to do is drop it into some rebel military base after supporting the forward vanguard company." The CSO uttered, to which the WSO agreed with a nod. Afterward, the CSO turned his eyes towards the pilots and radioed them about their secondary mission.

"The Citadel has given us a classified mission. I'll send you the coordinates of our target." The CSO reported to the two pilots of the AC-130, who nodded in understanding, giving a thumps up to the officer.

*Affirmative, we will change reroute after completing our current task.* The copilot responded to the CSO before turning his attention forward. They were nearing their first destination, which was an interstate road between the western region and the regions outside of it.

The AC-130 Gunship continued to soar onward with the intention to bring forth destruction upon the adversaries of the United World Government. It was a deserving faith of the traitors that had disappointed the Authority and the United World Government as a whole.

It didn't take too long until the fortified position of the forward vanguard company became visible to their live feed. The CSO watched with a scrutinizing gaze, noticing the strategy employed by the company to buy time against the incoming rebel armored convoy.

Speaking of the rebel armored convoy, they kept moving forward despite the bombardment of the forward vanguard company's armored vehicles. It seems that they were risking everything they had to reach the hilltop which was where the company positioned themselves.

"Get the SMAs(Special Mission Aviator) their designated targets. I'll announce our arrival to the company below." The CSO ordered the WSO, who quickly nodded and sent a call to the SMAs in the interiors of the AC-130. Meanwhile, the CSO opened communications with the company.

"This is Hellbound, providing air support to alpha." His words resounded through the radio, which was quickly received by the other side with the company communication operator responding. *Affirmative, Hellbound. Relaying information to the armored cars.*

With the report done, the CSO turned his attention to the WSO, who was adjusting the gatling gun and 30mm gun along with the 105mm cannon. The WSO then announced. "Designated targets had been confirmed! Ready to fire!"

A smile creeped up into the face of the CSO as he didn't hesitate to give them an order. "Give them hell!" Without a tinge of hesitation and delay, Hellbound began bombarding everything below them. The rebel armored battalion was pounded into damnation by the angel of death.

*BRRRRrrrrrtttt!!!*

*Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!* *Bam!*

*BAM!* *BAM!* *BAM!*

The heavy tanks, which served as the frontline offensive power of the rebel armored convoy were pummeled with the mechanized trucks being rained down with leads. The armored vehicles who couldn't handle the pressure exploded with their crew burning down with the tank.

*BOOM!* *BOOM!*

One after another, the rebel armored battalion which was supposed to reinforced the western cities had been devastated beyond what was acceptable. Over 40% of their vehicles had been destroyed with their forces scattering to hide from the inferno brought about by the angel of death.

It was a chilling sight, but the CSO merely watched through the screen. The power of air support in the heavens without rivals was astounding. A single gunship could lay waste upon an army that would have proven itself to be troublesome.

Yet, it was nothing more but target practice to the AC-130.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

The interiors of Hellbound continued to rumble from the forces of the guns and cannons firing everything they had. The completion of their mission shouldn't take long, perhaps a continued bombardment of twenty minutes would prove to be enough.

On the other hand, back to the ground, the captain merely watched from afar as the angel of death laid waste to a force that he considered to be a death sentence to his company. The power of gunships really was unparalleled. It made him relieved that they were the ones with such force.

"It shouldn't take long until the rebel armored battalion to break apart." He muttered under his breath, watching the scene in the distance, not taking his gaze off it. The consequences of warfare was suffering and death. It was a foolish endeavor, but a needed one.

Whether it'd be resources, population, land, influence, power, and ambition. It had always been the focal point of civilization to thrive. To take from others was to enriched one's self. But the most pointless of wars was a civil war, which did nothing but to break a country apart into fractured pieces of itself.

Comrades, countrymen, fellow citizens, killing each other for what they believe in. Perhaps, it might not be pointless after all. For it may have the same reasons as the usual wars.

"Those with traitorous thoughts must know the consequences of betraying the trust of the United World Government. Their ambitions will lay asunder amidst the glorious might of the United Military. Their minds torn apart by their own foolish ambitions."

Inside the Citadel, Abraham watched the horizon while swirling the glass of wine over his hand. He hadn't expected rebels to popped up within his country. Most importantly, for such rebels to be the first tribe he had liberated from the Colonial Dominion of Terra, he was beyond disappointed.

Fortunately, all was not for naught.

"It should be clear by now that becoming an isolation is a difficult task that doesn't provide the nation what it needs. Should we expand?" Abraham took a sip from the glass of wine, his thoughts unknown to anyone but himself. The rebels weren't the only ones with ambitions.

With the duration almost reaching zero, the time for him to take the helms was getting closer. Once receiving the personal power provided by Systema, it was about time to start the expansion.

Meanwhile, the CSO watched as the field of grass became riddled with craters and abandoned trucks. Corpses were also scattered, but what was most important was the state of the rebel armored battalion. They had long fallen, with most of the rebels deserting from their positions.

"It seems that we have completed the mission." The CSO mumbled to himself as the copilot quickly announced through the radio. *Rerouting to the west, designated target, rebel military camp.* His words resounded through the ears of the operations within the AC-130.

With the first task completed, it was finally time to drop the payload within the heavy gunship. And fortunately for Hellbound, a target was already in the corner. It was in the form of a massive military gathering of divisions, intending to take back the western region from the United Military.

A perfect experimental target of the first iteration of the future island sinker, PLUTON.
