Chapter 2131 Countdown Timer
Upon Jin's command, the crowd dispersed.
There was no need for additional words as they already knew who the guests were. At least, the silver lining in this dark situation was that the Celestials had given them an ultimatum instead of popping out from nowhere all of a sudden.
It had been to the point where Jin wanted everyone to carry their personal weapon wherever and whenever they went. However, En Moy felt that it might feel a tad intimidating to do so in public. That was why they settled for a compromise, allowing a concealed handgun as their mandatory weapon of choice in case things went bonkers.
Thankfully, the worst case scenario of invasion did not happen and people started to move and get ready. Mage Corps were returning to their base to wear proper gear instead of formal ceremonial attires.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Children and Elderlies had been instructed to stay in bunkers while the System prepared to give them chores not only to pass time but also to get things prepared for a protracted battle such as refilling empty magazine clips or being an ancillary support.
Of course, all of these would ultimately depend on whether the children and elderlies had been educated on the training programmes that had been taught to them prior to all of these but those were not the main concern of the System.
With the mandatory earring that every single Ress Citizen had to wear after the descent of the original system, the System was able to pinpoint each and every single person, telling the individuals where they were supposed to go and prepare for the fight. At the same time, the entire city was going into battle condition level 2.
Almost 90% of the New Ress City had been improvised smithed and despite their high rise stature, the buildings were actually made by Jin with the foreseeable future that New Ress City would be the battleground against the Celestials.
Even if he did not have that in mind in the initial wave of the construction boom in New Ress City, the battle against Lord Vishnu was more than enough to wake him up and put additional security features in them.
Now, these buildings were transforming into a variety of defensive systems. From anti air turrets, major artillery guns, and cannons that aimed the skies to surface to air missiles all ready to pounce against the Celestials the moment they entered their dimensional space.
All of the rest of the buildings had been hidden underground and if there was a camera looking from under, it would look like an inverted city.
At the same time, Jin had also informed Kraft about the impending Doom and the Royal Advisor of Ress personally reported that he would monitor the situation from afar and provide support when necessary. In return, he requested that all of the Star Foxes that were in Ress to be redeployed back to Mong Empire for proper coordination.
Jin agreed to it and subsequently started to pick up calls from Gara and the ministers, all reporting the situation update of their department.

In 8 hours, the entire kingdom had been mobilised and civilians who were not able to fight had been evacuated from the supposed frontlines. Food stock had been prepared, the Rifle Mages were ready and all of the armoured divisions had prepared whatever was essential for the upcoming invasion.
All that was left was the countdown of the timer.
What was supposed to be a happy day to celebrate the milestone of the nation had become a day where they await their enemies, their possible doom. After all, the fear of the unknown was practically the greatest fear for all humanity. Were they truly capable enough to bring them down?
Of course, there was some confidence instilled into the troops mainly due to the fact that those people who had high security clearance levels knew that the ammunition and even melee weapons that had been distributed to the nation were clearly capable of bringing down the Celestials.
While it might be a short time for Ayse, she believed that her work in anti celestial ammunition could be considered one of the best few she had done in her entire life. Jin also believed such was the case and had confidence that the kingdom had the means to fight against the menacing threat.
And even though they had a few hours left before the countdown timer ended, Jin had requested the System to put up a message. "Rest while you can. Close your eyes and dream. Because once the clock strikes twelve, we might not be able to have the time to think. If you are with your loved ones, hug them. Enjoy their company.
If they are separated from you, call them now while the communication lines are still up. At 2335hrs, everybody will resume to their battle stations."
Jin said as he too sat on the balcony of his room within Ress Royal Castle. He believed he never took the time to sit down and enjoy the night scenery at all. This time, there was a full moon as well and he thought about the people he had not seen for a year or so.
Of course, it might actually be longer than that considering how he fought in time dilated dungeons along with the rest of Ress but once he returned, it was merely a few seconds off.
However, it was at that point, Jin realised and thought something that he could still enhance the current defence system that he created for Ress. Of course, it will be a tad late to do so but it was nevertheless time consumed while waiting for the countdown. "System, A rather silly theory. What do you think of hiding dungeon outbreak in a time delay grenade?"
"…The System does not comprehend."
"I can summon dungeons, why not I put the portal…a tiny weeny portal inside a grenade and we cast time compression onto it. Do you think it will work as a dungeon outbreak grenade once it explodes?" Jin asked as he continued to admire the moonlight as the huge magical countdown ticked. The System was not able to reply which Jin also felt it was a stupid idea.
Yet, even though it was silly, he did just that with a couple of grenades and chucked them back into his storage ring while the King took his much well earned rest, waiting for the clock to strike 12.
