​”Back off, you fiend!” he shouted. The sword transformed into a beam of light, repeatedly striking at Xia Lan under his deft manipulation.

Another combatant flung talisman papers like throwing stars, aimed straight at Xia Lan.

In a mere moment, the fray intensified, with both sides locked in a relentless exchange.

Though Xia Lan initially dominated, the tide began to turn as the three he had ambushed regained their composure and entered the fray, bringing the battle to an uneasy equilibrium.

​From a corner, Jiang Hao watched the clash unfold, murmuring to himself, “Looks like Zhu Yifann and his crew are mainly employing Taoist and Buddhist tactics. And those firearms that injured Xia Lan must be the government’s specialized weapons.”
