An attack as bestial as that could not be avoided very easily. Already, Matthew needed to prepare it carefully, taking advantage of what his opponents were doing to allow it. How could it be easy to escape?

Daggers and freezing attacks lashed ferociously at the twins, creating a frenzy of screams from truly powerful people.

Even so, the screams ceased before the attacks ended, and suddenly, there was a huge explosion of fire in the middle of that place. At the same time, a powerful Energy Wave was unleashed towards all sides, erasing everything in its path.

Matthew’s eyes sparkled, and he smiled and immediately jumped up high to dodge the attack; at the same time, he thought about activating his Unique Ability. Honestly, he didn’t want to kill them because he knew that right now, his ability wouldn’t activate, and if it did, it would be a bad thing for his own body.

But, if he could get rid of these two, many problems would be solved and the free pass to obtain this city would be guaranteed.

That was why he wanted to attack with such determination. And knowing that that wave managed to disperse most of what he had prepared and destabilized the rest, he was concise and wanted to activate his Unique Ability.

But he frowned and looked beneath him when he tried to do so.

’Are they gone?’ In shock, he waited for the dust to settle, and sure enough, there was nothing there.

He slowly went down and checked the floor. There were bloodstains everywhere.

"They’re wounded. But they’re not close." Although he looked up and tried to follow a trail or smell of blood, he realized he couldn’t.

That made him sigh. "Tsk, that was a good chance. But they’re not dead. No ability activated, so they must be alive, those bastards." Although he sighed, he actually felt pretty good about himself.

His increase in power was satisfying, especially tonight’s. In just one night, he had managed to increase his power by practically 30,000.

Away from there, L-Ji and L-Je stopped at the top of the mansion that belonged to them.

One of them, L-Ji, the replicator, spat out some blood as he bent over a little in pain. L-Je, though wounded, had no deep wounds that were problematic for him.

But L-Ji was in a bit of a bad state. "Shit, that kid is really tough and cunning." He complained.

"You’re telling me, brother L-Ji. Are you okay? Even when I tried to trick him with my position, he still managed to land several killing blows on me severely. If it wasn’t for you, brother, I think I’d be severely injured over there."

At the last moment, before disappearing, L-Ji activated his Understanding of Control, but outside his body to create a wall of power and prevent many attacks from hitting him. Although some of them did, he mostly stopped them.

That allowed them to escape from there without Matthew reflecting that they weren’t that hurt.

L-Ji sighed. "I’m fine, brother L-Je. Let’s recover and try to hit him. At that point, we should fight with everything." He replied fiercely, but the entire Clan City shook at that moment.

Even they were affected by this and turned sharply toward where the battle between the main clans occurred.

They were distracted by this because they were fighting with Matthew and even injured. But the war had reached important points!

"Gray Allen!"

In the distance, they could see a tall, very good-looking man known and admired by everyone. He was standing firmly in front of several powerful people.

And in the distance, both twins saw other powerful people fly up here. Among them, two faces could cause fear.

"Impossible. That old scholar is still alive?"

L-Je looked at his brother immediately. "We’re leaving; let’s try to take Gray Allen with us!"

He looked out the window and saw Gray’s appearance. ’If I could kill, maybe I could go watch a battle of great magnitude. Looks like Gray Allen plans to take on those guys alone.’ He sighed and closed his eyes.

’I wonder if I can use that trick to pause my growth-type ability.’ Matthew thought and entered his mind.

Recently, he has discovered many things about the Path of Control. This path is simply amazing when understood in depth, and its depth seems limitless.

But, if there is anything extraordinary about this of all he has learned lately that he has used a few times, it is in what he accomplishes when he is with Isla; well, that is one of them.

When he was in front of Robert Adams and the former City Leader and Isla managed to disappear from them, it wasn’t merely because of her. The main driver of that was Matthew.

Using his Maker’s Domain in The Gate, he can reach, at this time, Level 2 of Control. With his current little understanding, he can use that Domain for the time it lasts to amplify Isla’s ability, allowing them to share between the two the difficulty of keeping that ability active when it affects people as powerful as those, which makes it easier to carry out.

That was a fantastic discovery for him and Isla, but it was just a tiny discovery.
