Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife

Chapter 137: I’m Sorry, Abigail!

Chapter 137: Chapter 137: I’m Sorry, Abigail!

Kelly heard the coldness in Abigail’s voice, “Abigail…”

Abigail grabbed Kelly’s collar, “Where’s Teddy?”

Where’s Teddy?

Abigail felt overwhelming rage, but in the end, she could only whisper “Where’s Teddy,” her voice thick with anguish.

Kelly, who was being seized by the collar, wore a bewildered look on her guilty face, “Abigail, what’s wrong with you?”

What’s wrong with her? Kelly actually had the face to ask what was wrong with her?

Abigail wanted to laugh, but her laugh looked worse than crying, “Where’s Teddy?”

It seemed like this was the only phrase she could utter. The sorrow that spread through her body was palpable, affecting everyone in the corridor, even Noel Roberts, who was usually carelessly slovenly, couldn’t help feeling a strange pang of heartache.

Was this chubby lady really not Teddy’s biological mother?

But from their information, she seemed to be Ruby Green’s sister, making her Teddy’s aunt, so it was understandable she cared for the child so much.

As Noel was thinking, Kennan Max walked in. He saw Abigail gripping Kelly’s collar, “Miss Green, what happened?”

“The so-called number one special assistant in Gills City, I think Special Assistant Max is just a glorified name.” Before Abigail could speak, Noel sarcastically jabbed at Kennan. Otherwise, how could he have not noticed Kelly’s odd behavior along the way?

If Kennan had been a bit more alert, this tragedy wouldn’t have happened.

Ultimately, it was Kennan’s incompetence.

Noel’s anger was blatant.

Kennan just finished a call with Pullan and saw Noel heading to the bathroom after pushing open the emergency door. He found it odd. After calming Pullan down, he came in to explain but was immediately attacked rudely by Secretary-General Roberts.

Luckily, years of being a special assistant had given Kennan a strong psychological resilience. He merely gave Noel a professional smile before looking at Abigail, “Miss Green, please let go of Kelly. There must be a misunderstanding between you two.”

“What misunderstanding?” Abigail clearly saw the guilty look in Kelly’s eyes. How could it be a misunderstanding?

No, she wished it was a misunderstanding, but was that even possible?

“This…please let go of Kelly first.” Kennan glanced at the female restroom where some passersby were. He couldn’t explain it at the moment.

Abigail did not trust Kennan and did not let go of Kelly. She just stared at her, “Where’s Teddy?” n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“Teddy is…cough cough…” Kelly was choking, her face turning red.

Abigail’s ears perked up and then fell, her grip tightened.

Just then, a faint cry of a baby came from the nursery. Abigail’s hand went stiff, and she rapidly released Kelly, rushing inside.

She dashed in to see the little one lying in the baby carriage, crying like a little kitten. His tears pattered on the floor tiles. She cautiously moved forward, “Teddy, Teddy…” Mommy is here, mommy is here.

As she spoke, Abigail’s voice choked with emotion.

“Cough cough cough…” Kelly coughed violently, finally catching her breath. Looking at Abigail, she softly said, “Abigail, quickly nurse Teddy. He’s been crying and not eating all day. His throat is hoarse from crying. I just managed to get him to sleep after changing his diaper when I heard a voice outside that sounded like yours…” Kelly didn’t finish her sentence.

Abigail carefully lifted the child, instinctively tightened her grip, and tears fell from her eyes like broken beads. Yet, she held them back with effort, her eyes became even darker, “Kelly you…”

“I’m sorry, Abigail. Brandon arranged for me to take Teddy away without telling you. You won’t blame me, will you?” Kelly said apologetically.

Abigail was stunned. She sidestepped the door, nursing the baby while looking at Kelly in bewilderment, “I ran into Thompson Taylor today…”

Kelly’s face turned pale. After a moment, she sighed softly, “It’s a long story. Brandon helped me.”

Abigail was surprised. Brandon Piers?
