Chapter 1246: Final battle with demons (6)



While the generals were confused to hear the message that was sent to them through Klein, they eventually did move away from the demons.

It wasn't just because I had given them this order, it was because they knew that they had to regroup now that the undead had appeared.

Of course, the demons had expected this and they sent the undead forward to try stopping this retreat.

But before they could do anything, the vanguards of the demons found that there were spells and flame breaths that rained down on them.

I split the wyverns of my group to form a line to cover the human troops as they pulled back. This didn't really cause much damage to the demons, but it was more than enough to stall them long enough that it created space for the human troops to pull back.

At the same time, each of the wyverns only fired a single breath and a few spells before pulling away, so none of them received any retaliation from the demons.

The mobility of the wyverns was not something to be looked down on.

Once there was a gap in between the demons and the humans, there was that filled the air.

The demon lines didn't move forward right away since they were still on the lookout for the wyverns that had retreated.

The wyverns really were a big problem for them since they were just too agile for the demons to pin down. At the same time, they were a big problem because of the large firepower that they wielded.

So they didn't dare rashly charge forward again.

However, the fact that they were on guard against the wyverns meant that they were ignoring something else.

Since they were looking up, that meant that they were ignoring the ground under them.

A great man once said that great minds think alike.

Though I didn't want to admit that I had the same thoughts as the demons, it was a fact that they had the same idea as me.

The difference was that they pulled their trump card out before I did.

When the demons were distracted watching out for the wyverns, there was movement that came from the ground under them.

Then all of a sudden, there was something that seeped out of the ground.

It was different from the ambush that the demons used since it wasn't individual undead that came out of the ground. Rather, it was a mass of undead flesh that came out at the same time that bound the ones that were above them.

This was a single undead golem that came out of the ground.

When the golem appeared, the demons were shocked to find that they weren't able to move at all.

It was different from hands grabbing at them, it was as if they were stuck inside of the golem itself since it had spread itself out in this large area like this.

There was just nothing that they could do to break free of this pool of rotten flesh that was under them. It was almost as if they were stuck in some kind of glue trap with how their feet were sticking to it.

Once they realized that there was no way out for them, the only thing that the demons could do was try to break free from the grasps of the golems under them.

But that just meant that they let their guard down of what was above them.

As soon as they did this, there were roars that came from above and then bright coloured lights that appeared.

When the demons looked up again, they found that there were more flame breaths and spells falling down on them.

It seemed that there was nowhere for them to run, so the only thing that they could do was try to take this attack.

It did not go well for the demons.

They already knew the power that was behind these flame breaths and spells, so being hit with them directly gave the same result as before where the demons were blown away.

There was just nothing that they could do in the face of the power of these attacks.

When it was over, there was only the same ground covered in the parts of the golem that was left. The demons that had been standing there had all been blown away by the power of the flame breaths and the spells.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

There wasn't a single trace left.

Though the fact that they were blown away just meant that none of them had the corruption energy in them.

They were nothing more than low grade soldiers of the demon race. Still, it wasn't a good thing that they had been turned to ashes like this. Though after being blown away like this, it still wasn't the end for them.

After they had been blown away, the demons started moving away from where the golems appeared. At the same time, the masses that made up the bodies of the golems seemed to be moving.

With the way that they moved, it was almost as if they were collecting something.

While watching this, I raised the Orb of the Dead that was in my hand and it released a black energy.

This black energy fell down and seeped into the ground.

In no time at all, there were new undead that stretched their hands out from within the

golems.

These undead had a strange appearance compared to the other undead that had appeared before.

These undead were undead that had been created from the demons that had been wiped out, so they had the appearances of demons.

After looking around dazed for a bit, the undead suddenly started charging forward.

They were attacking the demons that were in front of them.

There were strange looks that appeared on the faces of these demons since they didn't know how to feel about fighting those that had just been fighting with them not long ago.

But it wasn't as if they had a choice.
