Chapter 124: Chapter 124: A Date in Menagerie

Chapter 124: Chapter 124: A Date in Menagerie

[3rd POV]

Walking through the halls of Beacon, Gwen was on her way to get Artemis, who was currently waiting for her at the front entrance of the school. She had been doing some training against the grimm in the nearby forest, and had only returned a little bit ago. The girls had been progressing smoothly in that training, thanks to Gwen helping them where they needed it.

The training on their end had put them far above their peers, to the point that they were rapidly beginning to overcome the training methods and teachings the school had to offer. Which of course, meant that they probably wouldn't be in this world for as long as she initially expected. The world was just...boring to her, plain and simple. She'd still like to help Neo out, and perhaps play matchmaker with a few people (she noticed the looks Blake and Yang gave one another, and even the tsundere actions Weiss made around Ruby).

She doubted she'd be there for more than a year, and most of that would be spent doing...next to nothing besides enjoying her time with her girlfriends, time that she admittedly could do in other more enjoyable worlds. Worlds like Marvel comics, or the Prime DC universe.

Walking through the front entrance, Gwen smiled as she found her girlfriend standing there in a rather cute little outfit that suited her well. While Gwen herself was also dressed up in her own little outfit, one that got a cute blush out of Artemis as it showed off her abs.

"You look great babe" Gwen said, shamelessly looking over Artemis and the slight amount of stomach that she was showing off.

"Y-You looks great too" Artemis said, blushing slightly as she practically drooled, Gwen's toned abs being shown off, as well as a bit of cleavage due to her top.

Gwen smirked at the look she was receiving, deciding to tease by bending over slightly "Like what you see?~" Gwen teased, allowing Artemis to see her cleavage clearly. Artemis blushed brighter at the view before nodding.

"You really are adorable- Now, let's get out of here! We've got things to do, food to eat, and sex to have, the latter will come tonight though-" Gwen said with a grin as she pulled Artemis close to her, before teleporting off, with no one even noticing as the two disappeared from the campus.

Reappearing in a flash of light, Artemis looked around with slight surprise as they reappeared in a new location. This was Kuo Kuana, the largest settlement in Menagerie and the home of the chieftain of Menagerie, Ghira, aka Blake's father and the creator of the original White fang, before it became a terrorist organization.

Looking around, Artemis looked surprised at the rather older aesthetic of the place, it was almost like a village from one of those fantasy anime she had watched with Gwen a few times. It was...nice, and pretty peaceful too. Faunus walked the streets with smiles on their faces, with none of them even glancing at the different look Gwen had, nor did they seem to care that she was human, especially not after seeing the way Gwen had her hands intertwined with hers.

"It's a nice little place, isn't it?" Gwen asked Artemis who nodded, the place genuinely was quite nice, even to her standards with all the things she's seen with Gwen.

"It is, are you sure it's okay for me to be here?" Artemis asked, knowing what the humans of this world had done to the faunus people.

"I'm sure. The chief of this village is a kind man, and it would be hypocritical of them to judge you simply because you are human. That, and I'm pretty certain that there is a small population of humans that live here too" Gwen responded, calming her girlfriends worries as they began to walk through the village, and just as Gwen had said, none of the faunus even batted an eye when they saw the two walking together.

"What do you want to try first? We could see what this world's movies are like, or do you want to try some of the local foods?" Gwen asked Artemis, who contemplated for a few moments before replying.

"Food first, and then we can see if this world has any good movies. If it's anything like their music, then they might" Artemis replied, as she remembered listening to some of the music of this world, and it had been surprisingly quite good. The classical stuff was boring and unoriginal, but the rock and pop was certainly different.

"Let's hope it's actually good" Gwen commented, knowing that this world didn't have all the spices and mixtures that she was so used to, as they simply didn't have the land and safety to properly create and grow the necessary plants for it.

Turns out the food was quite good. There was a wide range of dishes to cater to the different types of faunus, and there was some dishes that Gwen had never even heard of, like this unique fish dish that used a fish local to this world, the dish being especially popular with cat faunus.

There were also some pretty interesting desserts, with some of them being unique as well. The one that Gwen had liked the most was this strange fusion of a croissant, cookie, and was filled with a dark chocolate. It was delicious, even to her standards. It was also now safely in her mind for the future when she could create some more in the future.

Movie wise the world was...definitely not as good as Earth, not even close. It was pretty simple, and usually involved a huge grimm threat that the main character miraculously defeats, with his trusty faunus sidekick (and the joker of the group) and his beautiful love interest. Basically the clichest story you can think of, and a rather boring one.

Neither Gwen or Artemis cared much for the movie, and spent most of their time laughing at the movie's cringey lines, and guessing what cliche line or moment would happen next. The rest of their time was spent walking around Menagerie buying all sorts of neat little trinkets and just enjoying their date alone.

Sadly, that could not last, as finally, after three hours of enjoying the vibes of the small village, someone had taken offense to Artemis's existence there.

"Well, it's a good thing the food in this world isn't as bad as it's movies" Gwen said as they walked the streets, having just eaten their dinner.

"You could say that again. I mean really, did they have to make so many racist or sexist jokes? I knew faunus were looked down upon, but to think they'd even do it subtly in movies is ridiculous. How come they were even showing it here?" artemis asked, as Gwen shrugged.

"Probably didn't even realize, or they just didn't care. Either way-" "What is a human doing here?" Gwen couldn't continue as she was cut off, a mans voice ruining her mood, as they both turned, finding a tall faunus standing there with a horn sprouted from the middle of his head, showing that he seemed to be a rhino faunus.

"Does it matter? She's with me" Gwen said as she glanced at the man, already seeing what sort of direction this was inevitably going to go.

"This is no place for human scum, girl!" The man snarled, as he stomped forward. Gwen just deadpanned at the man, wondering what this man was even doing. She hadn't seen him before, and she hadn't done a thing to him, so she really didn't understand what the purpose

of this was.

"Okay? Can we go now? We were about to head home anyways" Gwen replied as the man looked confused for a moment.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Well I'll take your silence as my answer, bye bye!" Gwen said with a smile as she placed her hand on Artemis's shoulder and flashed away, leaving behind an immensely confused rhino faunus, and wide eyed man who had been watching from afar, wondering who the young woman was, and how he hadn't seen her in his village before.

Reappearing outside of Beacon, Gwen let out a sigh as she looked to Artemis "Sorry about that, babe. I didn't really want to deal with...that"

"It's alright, I didn't want to either. It wouldn't be worth it to fight with that idiot either way" Artemis waved it off, as they were already planning on heading home, now it just happened a

bit sooner than they wanted.

Looking to Artemis, Gwen hummed before a small grin formed on her face, as she leaned into Artemis's ear, her hand trailing to the girls behind as Artemis blushed bright red, before blushing even more upon hearing what Gwen had said, a small squeak escaping her lips. "How about I make it up to you?~ Afterall, we're going to have the room to ourselves~"

Artemis promptly nodded quickly, as Gwen teleported off once again, with a wide grin on her face that promised a lot of...enjoyable sensations for the blushing archer. All the while having

one thought on her mind.

'Hopefully the walls aren't too thin~'

That's the end of the chapter!

Not sure if I'll do a smut chapter next, but we'll see, it matters how I'm feeling to be honest.

As writing smut is both hard, and not really all that fun for me.

Not sure how well this chapter was made either, as I was struggling a bit with where to take it.

Date chapters just...aren't really my thing to be honest, neither is slice of life, not constantly

at least.

Anyways, have a good day!
