Chapter 452 Another Update
[World Announcement: Attention Asgardians, there should be an update coming in exactly two minutes. Please before this time comes don't do anything strenuous as it will affect your bodies in a negative way, just take it easy for exactly ten minutes starting now.
[New things to expect from the update:
- this update was set to happen when all the worlds were connected to Asgard, so right now the task begins. There will be a rift opened so that the harbingers can come to you and the final boss will be the ancient one, under no circumstances should any of you cross this rift.
- there will be no more monsters or beasts in Asgard except for ones that are tamed. Each and every Harbinger will be now the new hoards of monsters players have to defeat. Their levels will be shown above their heads so players know not to bite more than they can chew.
- depending on your class and race, each of you have already been given skills, you can check those while you wait the ten minutes out.
- some functions will not work after the update, things like entering dungeons won't be possible anymore as there won't be monsters. This is to limit the places in which the ancient one and his harbingers can enter Asgard.
- all the NPCs will be disabled and shelved, that includes the game's system. I won't be able to do anything like this, you will still be able to check your character sheet or level up.
[From your benefactor, fight for your homes, fight to win!]
"Well, looks like we won't need to climb up this mountain anymore, though it pisses me off that it couldn't have announced this before we started the climb. I feel like the system did it on purpose."
Hubris growled lowly, "why don't we go to this system and show him a good time? Nobody plays with my master's time."
Despite the impending doom Kiro found himself chuckling. If the system had a physical body he would take up Hubris on his offer.
"We aren't far off from the ground, race you to the base?" Kiro didn't wait for him to confirm and immediately used blink and it took him a few seconds to reach the ground.
Hubris had missed their mundane competitions amongst themselves, much like his master he didn't waste any time and appeared right besides him right at the same time he touched the base of the mountain.
Time seemed to stand still as Kiro used blink and his new lightning skill to enhance his speed. Even with two whole skills, he was only ahead Hubris by a hair's breath.
That was the moment he understood just how amazing and strong his mount was.
He considered using his reality warping skill, despite the harbinger stealing half of his power he could still sway the laws of nature slightly.
'That would be too much.' He stopped his thoughts before they could make themselves a reality.
The system had given them two minutes, he was sure if they didn't get there before then that would be troublesome as they were using abilities. They weren't just racing themselves, they were racing against time as well.
Kiro was confident they would make it though, with how fast they were going it should take them a minute maximum. Usually the walk from their base to this mountain was an hour but not to them, not right now, the climb was more difficult but they were in a straight line now.
After a several seconds their base came into view, Kiro touched their gate only a millisecond before Hubris.
"You've grown, good job." This had never happened before but he was a little out of breath.
"I've had a great master." The hellhound howled as he said.
He was truly grateful to Kiro, Hubris thought he owed Kiro a few lifetimes. He didn't just save his life, he brought him home and helped him take control of his kingdom. There was nothing under the sky he wouldn't do for his master.
They were welcomed by crowds of people, of different races, whether they were races from the game or from actually another world. People of earth had decided to gather around After Dark's base which was something that took Kiro by surprise.
"What's going on?" He tried to keep the panic and his voice low when he reached the doors of their building.
"Where have you been?"
Kiro looked at Hiro strangely. While he didn't say that he would be gone for some time, he didn't expect that Hiro would have stayed in the game for that long without taking a break.
Even without his friend telling him, he knew he had been grinding and teaching his students for the days he was gone to rescue his father, the fact that he didn't know what was going on out there said plenty.
"You haven't logged off then? Something happened, did I tell you I handed over the mine mission to dad? Well if I didn't apologies in advance."
Hiro's eyes went wide as they could go, when he heard about the mission and something having happened, he assumed the absolute worst. He knew what it was like to lose a father, that was something he would never wish on anyone, especially his best friend.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"When you say it like that, he's bound to overthink it, don't you think?" A gruff voice sounded from within the crowds and they didn't wait long before they realise it was Nikolai as he showed himself.
Kiro's father had filled him up with what happened at that mountain and what Nikolai had to face. He also didn't want to show pity, people hated that, he knew it very well. Stay tuned for updates on empire
"Don't look at me like that, I'm fine, seriously."
His voice didn't crack, it was steady but it was the way he said, it made him think Nikolai didn't mean anything he was saying. He looked a little bit broken. Kiro made a mental note to talk to him later on.
"What is this Hiro? Why is everyone here?" He turned to Hiro and asked.
"They were thinking of making this land the base of operations."
