Chapter 857: Chapter 853: A Rare World for Two

Parker seemed quite familiar with this area, even exchanging greetings with people they passed by.

“Parker, you frequent here often?”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Parker grinned at Richelle, “Yeah, my wife likes to come here for late night snacks. She says it reminds her of the hustling life.”

Richelle glanced around at the people eating, drinking, and talking by the road and agreed. Compared to the people she encountered at companies or hospitals, those here seemed more down-to-earth.

“Master Lewis, Dr. Dunn, we frequent this place. My wife and I really like it here.”

Upon sitting down, Richelle and Roy Lewis invited Parker to join them. But as soon as they finished ordering, Parker was dragged away by a friend, leaving Richelle and Roy to enjoy some alone time.

Richelle ordered beer, filling her glass to the brim while only poured half for Roy Lewis.

Roy pretended to be upset, “This is bullying!”

Richelle raised her eyebrows, “No choice, there’s only enough money for one beer bottle. Don’t you think you should let your wife drink her fill?”

Roy Lewis quickly appeased her, “Absolutely, absolutely, even if you don’t give me this half, I will have no complaints.”

They laughed around for a while before the food finally arrived.

The delicious smell made Richelle unable to resist taking a deep inhale, “It smells great, makes my mouth water.”

Roy Lewis gently patted her head, “If you like it, we can come here more often.”

Richelle’s eyes shone brightly, “Yes! Let’s bring the three little ones too, they’ll definitely love it.”

Richelle didn’t like her children to be too pampered, she also wanted them to experience different aspects of life.

However, both she and Roy Lewis were busy and didn’t have much free time to take their kids out.

“They can’t come!”

But Roy disagreed with Richelle’s suggestion.

“Huh? Why? Isn’t it good to let them see more?”

Roy Lewis pointed to the grilled mutton, chicken legs, and squid, “Dr. Dunn, from a professional perspective, are these foods suitable for children?”

Richelle laughed.

“Master Lewis, from a professional point of view, not only children, but even you and I shouldn’t eat this kind of food often. Or, shall we leave now?”

Roy seriously countered her.

“That’s different! We’re adults, our digestion is definitely better than those kids. Their stomachs are fragile.”

Richelle clicked her tongue, “It’s not like we would come every day, once in a while won’t hurt.”

Roy wanted to say something else, but Richelle shoved a piece of mutton in his mouth.

“Master Lewis, let’s eat. This is our date, it’s really a downer to keep bringing up the kids! Besides, when it comes to the kids, I am the one to make the final decisions.”

Although Richelle sounded dominant, in reality, she always consulted with Roy Lewis before making any decisions about the children or any other family issues.

Of course, it was not because she was indecisive or reluctant to make decisions but because she always believed that the family belonged to both of them and decisions should be made together.

Considering this, Roy Lewis agreed, this was their precious date, indeed it was quite dull to keep talking about the kids.

He tasted a piece of grilled mutton. The outside was a crispy while the inside remained juicy and tender. The mutton, marinated with spices and seasoning, was incredibly delicious.

“Quite good, better than the grilled mutton we had at that farmhouse last time.”

Hearing this, Richelle also reached for a skewer, bit into it, gulping it down. She sighed contently, “It’s indeed delicious! It would be a shame not to let the kids taste this!”

Roy smile widened, teasing her, “Didn’t someone just say that mentioning the three kids would be a downer?”

Upon being caught, Richelle lifted her drink, grinning cheekily at him.

“It was me, I will take a half cup penalty!”

Roy Lewis quickly moved to stop her, “No, a sip will do, who told you to take half a cup? Dr. Dunn, I’m not drunk, don’t trick me into drinking more!”

Richelle clicked her tongue, “Boring, only one sip won’t do it.”

Roy Lewis glared at her, “Are you so unwilling to hide your cunningness? Just take a small sip, if you drink too much, you will regret it later.”

Roy Lewis recalled the last time he got drunk in South Asia, he suffered for an entire night and even his stomach was upset the next day.

Richelle shot him a glance, “Do you think everyone’s tolerance is as pitiful as yours? Don’t talk about just one glass, I can down several of these beers.”

Richelle, indeed, had excellent alcohol tolerance.

Of this, Roy Lewis was well aware.

“Even if you can handle it, you shouldn’t. Drinking too much isn’t good for your health.”

Basically, he just wanted Richelle to drink less.

Richelle wasn’t a rash person, “Alright, I’ll just finish this bottle, is that fair enough?”

One beer bottle, which was already half-empty thanks to Roy Lewis taking his share, was indeed not excessive.

“Okay! That’s a deal! Now let’s enjoy this barbeque.”

That night, both of them let loose.

Even though they had to work the next day, both of them purposely chose to neglect that fact. They ate and drank in the barbecue stall till past 2 am. Only after they had their fill, did they choose to leave.
