Chapter 181 Supplying Tea Leaves

As the Uber arrived up at the imposing gates of the villa complex, the driver glanced toward the security guard approaching the car. The guard tapped on the driver's window, his face neutral but firm.

"Excuse me, taxis are not allowed inside, sir," the guard said.

The driver nodded, about to turn toward Noah to explain the situation, but before he could speak, Noah calmly rolled down his window.

His expression carried effortless confidence, and an unmistakably charming smile.

"Hello, Terence," Noah greeted smoothly. "Could you do me a favour and allow him this time?"

The guard's sternness instantly softened as recognition flashed across his face. "Oh, it's Mr. Thompson!" he exclaimed, stepping back slightly. "Sorry to stop you, sir. Please, enter."

Terence waved to his colleague, signalling for the gates to open. The heavy iron barriers swung inward, revealing the entrance.

As the Uber started forward, Noah glanced at the guard, offering a subtle nod of appreciation. "Thank you, Terence," he said, his voice calm yet authoritative.

"My pleasure, sir. Have a good evening," Terence replied, snapping a quick salute.

The Uber driver let out a low whistle under his breath as they drove past the gates.

'Why is a man this important taking an uber home... the world of the rich, you can never understand what they are truly thinking.' The driver thought, glancing at Noah through the mirror.

As Noah stepped into the mansion, an aroma wafting from the kitchen instantly caught his attention.

'That smells nice. Anderson's sister is proving to be quite the decent chef,' he mused, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

He walked into the kitchen, his eyes immediately landing on Selena, who was plating a dish.

"Good evening, Selena," Noah said casually. "That smells good. What's on the menu tonight?"

Selena turned toward him, her expression brightening at the compliment. "Hello, Mr. Thompson. I'm glad you like the aroma. Tonight's dinner is chicken katsu curry," she said, her tone polite and professional, but with a hint of pride.

Noah nodded, the corner of his mouth lifting into a subtle smile. "Good choice," he remarked as he made his way to the counter table and sat down, resting his elbows on the smooth surface.

Selena returned to her task, carefully garnishing the dish with chopped green onions before placing it on a tray.

She glanced at Noah briefly and added, "It'll be ready in just a few more minutes."

"Take your time," Noah said, his gaze sweeping the kitchen.

Soon enough, Selena placed the dish in front of Noah, the golden curry glistening. The crispy chicken cutlets rested on a bed of steaming white rice.

As he picked up his utensils, Noah glanced up and noticed Selena standing nearby, her hands clasped behind her back, her posture stiff but polite. His brow arched slightly in curiosity.

"What are you doing just standing there?" he asked, his voice carrying a mix of amusement and light tone. "Sit down and eat."

Selena quickly shook her head. "No, it's okay, sir. I'll eat after you," she replied, her tone respectful but hesitant.

Noah chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "Why would you do that? Just sit down and eat. Come on, don't be shy."

Selena hesitated for a moment, her eyes darting to the plate in front of him and then back to the counter. "I wouldn't want to intrude, sir."

"If you think I'd mind, you're mistaken," Noah said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument. "The food's best when it's hot. Just sit down and enjoy it."

Relenting, Selena gave a small nod, a faint smile on her face as she moved to get a plate for herself. She served a portion of the curry and rice, then took a seat at the counter across from him.

The two ate in silence, Noah didn't mind the lack of conversation.

After finishing his meal, Noah leaned back slightly and wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Thank you for the meal, Selena. It was fantastic."

Selena's face lit up at the compliment. "I'm glad you liked it, Mr. Thompson."

Standing up, Noah placed his plate in the sink. "I'll leave you to enjoy the rest of your evening."

With that, he gave a small nod and headed toward his room.

Noah woke up and did his morning routine, he then headed downstairs to eat the breakfast made by Selena.

After eating, he digested for a while then hit the gym for a quick workout. His cardio session was not running this time, it was the boxing bag.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

After finishing training, he hit the shower, dried himself, left the house and headed towards the teahouse to check on his dad and the store.

...

As he parked outside near the teahouse, he spotted a few more tables and chairs scattered inside and outside the store.

'it seems like he added more tables, seems like Dad has been busy making plans for the store,' Noah thought, a small smile on his face.

'Looks like Dad's been busy,' Noah thought, a smile tugging at his lips.

Before entering the store, the aroma of the magical tea greeted him.

Inside the store, David, was at the counter, his posture confident yet relaxed.

The store had customers enjoying their drinks chatting to their friends, whilst others were studying or doing their work.

"Good morning, Dad," Noah greeted warmly, walking over to give his father a brief hug. "How's business today?"

David's face lit up at the sight of his son. "Morning, Noah. Business is good. It's not as crazy as the first few days, but we're doing great."

He gestured to the expanded seating areas. "What do you think of the new layout? I realized a lot of customers prefer drinking tea here, so I added more seats to make them comfortable. And I made a slight change to our menu."

"Oh?" Noah asked, his interest piqued.

David nodded, his enthusiasm shining through. "I introduced a more affordable version of one of our premium teas. It's a diluted version, not by too much—it's still good quality. I wanted to make sure those who can't afford the full-priced tea still have an option. But I also made sure it wouldn't take attention away from the premium offering."

Noah listened intently, his smile broadening. "Those are great decisions, Dad. You're doing an excellent job. I left this place in your hands for a reason."

David chuckled, his pride evident. "I will, son. It's good to hear that from you."

"Speaking of which," David added, glancing at the brewing station, "Do you want some tea? Freshly brewed."

"Sure, Dad. That'd be great," Noah replied, taking a seat at the counter as David began preparing a cup for him.

As Noah sipped on the tea, he motioned for the other workers to take over his dad's position at the cashier for a while.

Turning back to his father, "Dad, remember Arthur? The guy who came to our opening a few days ago?" Noah asked, glancing at his father.

David nodded.

"Yeah, I remember him. What about him?"

Noah set the cup down gently, savouring the tea. "He's interested in partnering with us. Specifically, he wants us to supply tea for one of his businesses. It's a one-time deal for now, but it could turn into a regular transaction, weekly or even monthly."

David raised an eyebrow, his expression thoughtful. "Hmm, supply tea to him, huh? That could be a good opportunity. Did he mention any specifics about the amount?"

Noah nodded. "The amount isn't locked down yet; we can pick any amount. But it's better to start with a smaller quantity so that our store remains the main attraction. I wanted to hear your thoughts before moving forward."

David paused. "It sounds like a good deal. As you know, the quantity isn't an issue for us. The real concern is whether selling elsewhere might draw customers away from our store. Also, you'll need to make sure the cost of the tea he's buying isn't lower than what we sell here. If it is, it could hurt our business."

Noah smiled, shaking his head. "Don't worry, Dad. The price for the tea leaves will be set high enough that it wouldn't make sense for him to undercut our prices. That's already covered."

David's eyes softened, a small nod of approval accompanying his thoughtful expression. "That's good. As long as we protect the store's integrity and reputation, I don't see why we shouldn't try it out. Just make sure everything is in the contract—clear terms mean clear responsibilities."

Noah grinned. "Already planning on it. I'll handle the deal and keep you updated."

David chuckled. "You've got a good head for this, son. Go ahead and see where this takes us."

After talking to his dad for a while, Noah left the teahouse.
