Ascension of the Monster Queen

The king sighed after Jovan came forth, he didn't want unnecessary trouble and hoped that they would understand what he wanted to do was only for the good of his kingdom, putting personal feelings aside.

The king glanced at his daughter, who remained quiet at the time, since she didn't know whether it was the right moment for her to intervene or not and didn't want to cause more trouble for her father.

Mikala looked at Nessa, whom she noticed eyes were fixed on Jovan and Miakala's brows furrowed, wondering why she was looking at him like that, then she sighed.

'I hope they don't do anything stupid here, I am really not in the mood for anyone's nonsense right now, I just feel like going to bloody sleep,' Nessa thought and the demon glanced at her, noticing that she seemed as though she had lost interest in what was happening.

"Jovan, if you guys still don't agree, we can all sit down another day and talk about all of this, there is still a lot of time for that, though tomorrow night, I want to throw a ball," The king said and Jovan clenched his right fist then gritted his teeth.

"You guys don't understand, she is far too young to shoulder the responsibility of this kingdom, your points are valid your highness, that much I admit because I see the way she does things, but it is not enough for her to take the throne, look at the others, they can grow, it won't take them long because they have much more understanding about how things work," Jovan replied.

"I understand what you are saying and why you are saying it Jovan, but with veterans by her side she can grow as well," The king said and Jovan's eyes narrowed.

"Yeah, you are right, so can they, your sons don't want the space anymore, they more than understand? Fine, then what about Kyle? Do you guys even see him here or do you just plan to do everything without even asking his opinion after getting his hopes up?" Jovan asked.

Just then Nessa looked at Kyle and a smirk appeared on her face when she saw the way he was behaving and the demon scoffed for he saw as well.

'Now, what chess piece are you guys going to pull for this> From my point of view and if I knew the king well enough, he is not going to change his mind, this is going to be interesting,' She thought.

"I see, I am sorry, you are right, Kyle deserves a chance to speak his mind as well, Kyle, if you have something you want to say child, go ahead and don't hold back," The king said and Kyle looked at him and his brows furrowed.

"Your Highness, are you sure about? What if you don't like it? What if I say something that throws all of you out of your world, huh?" He asked and the demon smirked as he looked on at what was going on with Kyle.

"How long do you think he will be able to keep it up?" Nessa asked.

"From the looks of things right now, he won't be able to do it for long, let's just wait and see if he is going to mess up," The demon responded and Nessa scoffed.

"He will, he definitely will, sooner or later, I bet he just wants to burst open right now, but...." She said and Kyle smirked and the king's brows furrowed as he looked at him carefully.

At that moment. the sudden change in the way Kyle was behaving, made the king go on his guard and felt a bit uneasy since he had never seen the young man act the way he was at the moment, but just passed it off as he was angry since he tried so hard, yet was not chosen.

"Kyle, I understand that you are anrgy, after you spent so much of your time here, trying your best just so that you could achieve this spot, I am truly sorry, I know we got your hopes up and to just do this," The king said and Kyle smiled at him and the king's brows furrowed as Jovan glanced at Kyle.

"Don't worry, there is no need to apologize, these things are to be expected, I mean it's not like you can control everything that happens around you, maybe this is just faith, maybe it's not meant to be mine, I also understand the position that you are in," Kyle replied and Mikala's eyes narrowed as she looked at him.

"Why the hell am I feeling this way? This guy...." Mikala mumbled as Zack stood by her side, feeling a bit uneasy with the way things were going and Nessa noticed them then she smiled.

"Oh? What's this?" The demon asked.

"The way he is behaving, things are starting to kick in, we just have to wait and see what happens after this, from the way he just spoke, ugh," Nessa responded and the demon chuckled.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"I see, then thank you for understanding, please know that if you need anything in the future, just ask, if I can I will help you to the best of my ability," The king said.

"I will keep that in mind, also, none of this will go to waste," He replied.

"Now, is everything clear to you now, Jovan? Is there anything else you want to say? If so please go ahead," The king said.

"No, there is nothing more, I rest my case," He replied and the king sighed.

"It's getting pretty late, does anyone have any objection?" The king asked and they exchanged glances.

"Not at the moment, we will continue to keep a watch, if there is anything we will be sure to let you know, let's see where the decision you made will take this kingdom, there is no harm in giving this a chance," Quion responded and the king smiled.

"Good, this session is now dismissed, I suggest you guys prepare for the ball tomorrow, we will announce the one that was chosen there," The king said and they all smiled.

Everyone bowed their heads and Mikala smiled then followed the king as he left, before glancing at Nessa and her brothers left with her as well.

"Let's see where it goes indeed," Kyle said with a smile as he left and Nessa saw him then left the throne room, with the demon, heading back to their room, since it was getting late already.
