Ascension of the Monster Queen

After leaving the throne room with the demon, Nessa exhaled deeply with a feeling on her chest that she couldn't shake and it was bothering her quite a bit.

The demon glanced at her as they went to her room and she looked at him after feeling his gaze and his eyes narrowed then he grabbed her by her arm and she looked at him, wondering what he was doing.

"What are you doing?" She asked and he pulled her into her room then locked the door behind her and her brows furrowed, since she was a little confused about the way he was acting.

"What is wrong with you now, huh? Why are you acting like that?" She asked and he exhaled deeply.

"Are you letting your guard down right now?" He asked and her brows furrowed as she looked at him.

"What are you saying suddenly? Of course not, I am not letting my guard down, I am just thinking about things, also my identity will not stay hidden forever, sooner or later it will be out," She responded and he scoffed.

"You are right but are you really ready for that right about now?" He asked and she lowered her head a little then sat down on the bed.

"I have a lot to handle, my identity will make them come after me more, the only difference right now, is that they don't know what I look like," She responded and the demon sighed.

"I understand but from what I am seeing so far, you are looking as though you don't care," He said and she smiled at him.

"You read that part to be particularly a little right, sometimes I don't care, I will have to face it, won't I? I might as well prepare for it from now on, I know you understand what I mean," She replied and his eyes narrowed then he exhaled deeply.

"I forgot how stubborn you are, you are showing it now more, day by day, but with our enemies are strong and different, they are not to be messed around with, being prepared may not be enough, I will tread carefully if I were you, especially you, right now," He said and she smiled at him, feeling as though he was fully on her side, despite knowing he had other motives.

"I get it from the way you are acting, there is much more that we don't know about these things, our main goal is the leader of them, he falls, they all do, don't worry. I will be a little more careful from here on out, I have a feeling they are not going to sit lightly after what has happened here, we have to prepare for the worst, they have to," She replied as he looked at her.

'Something is a bit more different about her now, a few things have changed, that's for sure, I wonder what that may be, what more can she really do? What will be the outcome of all this, it is getting even more interesting now,' He thought.

"I understand your point of view very well, after all, there is a lot at stake, what do you think will happen at the ball tomorrow? Do you think that they will make a move at the ball or not?" He asked and she laid back on the bed.

"If they do plan on doing that, we will be in quite a pinch, it's going to be bad news and I plan on getting a small thing over with before leaving here to go back home," She responded before sighing.

"I see, they won't sit down easily, be careful or you might get bitten as well," He said and she chuckled.

"That's not going to happen, not here at least, true I don't think Kyle will stay put, that's why we will talk about what needs to be done tomorrow," She replied and his eyes narrowed.

"To get rid of the little thorns in the paths, after all, we cannot let them do as they please, they need to be shown that, well, let's see what to do tomorrow," He said as he looked at her and she glanced at him while thinking about a few things and he sighed then approached her and she sat up and looked up at him.

"They cannot be allowed to stay within the royals here, they are going to make a mess out of this place, you are the one that said that as well, are you going to use this opportunity to get to something else within the enemy line?" He asked.

'He is bloody fast with these things,' She thought.

"Yeah, you are right about that, we have to take every opportunity we have," She responded and he scoffed.

'I am starting to wonder what this creature looks like,' She thought then he leaned in closer to her and she pulled back a bit and he glanced at her neck then scoffed when he saw something and she leaned in towards him.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"I am the one that should be asking you that, to be honest, tell me, when do you plan on showing me what you look like?" She asked and he looked her in the eyes.

"You are quite persistent at times and in the most unexpected ways, aren't you?" He asked and she chuckled.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"It's nice pulling your legs, it gives me a little peace, besides you are the one that's keeping most secrets and I still have you around, you should have expected the unexcepted things a lot more, demon," She responded with a smirk.

"You know, to normal people, you might be even scarier than a bad person, a demon," He said as he stepped away from her and at the same time, a maid knocked on the door and was given permission to enter.

"Dinner, ma'am," She said.

"Thank you," Nessa replied then the young girl left and Nessa stood up.

"And to you?" She asked as she looked back at him and a smirk appeared on his face.

"It doesn't matter to me, also, you will see my face soon, but that doesn't mean you should trust me fully," He responded and she scoffed.

"Do I look like I do?" She asked.

"Your actions are hard to read enough, don't ask me that, but if I am right, partially," He responded.

"I have said this before, I will say it again, I won't hesitate to kill you if you betray me for stupid reasons, remember that, I am a person who sticks to my word and from what I have learned so far in this world, you have to be willing to do what it takes to survive," She said with a piercing look in her eyes and he knew she was serious but he was not that different from Nessa.

"I know and you are right, it is one of the ways of this world," He replied and she smiled a little. Stay updated through empire

'I chose the right path with this one, she is not one to make an enemy of, well that's not something I have to think about,' He thought then both of them sat down and began eating their dinner.

A little while after, when they finished eating and discussing a few things, the demon went to his room and Nessa went to do her normal night routine then called it a night, since she was tired.

But while they were sleeping, the ones within the shadows had already begun to take their step into Nessa's path, one which was undecided for anyone.
