Ascension of the Monster Queen

The next morning, while Nessa was sleeping, she was dreaming the one thing that she didn't want to see and lately some of her dreams had been getting worse but it only happened sometimes.

The dream Nessa was having were mostly related to the changes that were happening in her life at the time, some which would be considered life changing to most, after all Nessa was no longer the same person she was before she came to this world.

That morning, while Nessa was sleeping, she heard someone calling out to her but was not using her name and her brows furrowed then she heard a loud bang and flung up from her sleep.

"Ah, you are up, good morning," The demon said and she sighed.

The girl turned to look at him, since he was standing by her foot side, directly in front of her and her brows furrowed.

"Good morning, you know, I do have a name right?" She asked.

He tilted his head a little to the right as she stared at him with a blank expression on her face then he shrugged and her brows twitched.

"Are you going to get up now?" He asked and they heard the loud bang once again and she flinched.

"What the hell?" She asked, clearly being irritated by it and he scoffed.

"Seems like they are doing something," He said and she glanced at him.

"Well. they will be having the ball today, they will make the announcement as well, I am going to..." She replied when someone knocked on her room door and he turned around then she sighed.

"I will check," He said then went to open the door and saw it was the princess, Mikala.

"It's the princess," He said then the girl greeted him good morning and he allowed her to enter.

"Good morning, Nessa," Mikala said and Nessa looked at her then smiled.

"Good morning, Mikala, you are early," She replied and the princess chuckled.

"It is not that early, don't tell me, are you still sleepy?" She asked and Nessa glanced at her.

"Nope, not at all, tell me what brings you here?" She asked

The demon glanced at her after hearing her say she was not sleepy and he wanted to say something to her but didn't and stayed quiet.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Well, as you know they already started planning for the ball since last night and their preparations are moving at a fast rate because they won't be inviting too many people, so I wanted to talk to you and I want your help," She responded and Nessa smiled at her.

"All right, I will get out of bed and freshen up then I will join you, how about that?" She asked.

"There is one thing you forgot, you have to eat breakfast first as well, otherwise I won't meet up with you," She responded and Nessa chuckled then patted her on her shoulder and Mikala grinned.

"Yeah, we will have breakfast first," She said and Mikala nodded then glanced at the demon and a smirk appeared on her face and when he saw that, his eyes narrowed.

"Don't go thinking wayward, Mikala, stop your imagination for now," Nessa said and Mikala laughed.

"If you say so, I will take your word for it, for now, I will wait for you guys at breakfast, there is no rush," She replied then left, after waving at Nessa.

Nessa sighed then glanced at her bed before getting up and the demon scoffed and she looked at him.

"I didn't say anything, but don't take too long," He said and she scoffed then grabbed her clothes and went to freshen up, while he waited for her to finish.

A little while after, when Nessa finished taking her bath, she exhaled deeply and looked at herself in the mirror and noticed the same shimmer on her body then she sighed, wondering what it was.

"I don't know what this is but I have a feeling it is sort of a big deal," She said.

[What is happening to you is similar to a magical reaction. I won't be able to tell what it may be anytime soon, it will be difficult, since it is not normal, avoid people seeing it happen.

"I will, I have to figure this out as well, another added to my list, no problem," She said then got dressed and when she was finished, she exited the bathroom and saw that the demon was still there waiting for her.

"You don't always have to wait," She said and he glanced at her.

"Don't forget, that here I am literally disguised as working for you, so I kind of should," He replied and she smiled at him.

"Fine, do as you please, also, are you always going to come in my room without permission?" She asked and he scoffed.

"No, not all times, just when I need to and I get no answer," He responded as she stared at him then sighed.

"Whatever, you are so difficult and hard to understand at times that it gives me a headache, shall we get going?" She asked before wiping her eyes and he nodded.

"Are you still tired?" He asked and she glanced at him as they walked down the hallway.

"Who told you that?" She asked and he patted her on her shoulder.

"No one had to tell me about it, I could have told you from the minute you came out of the bath, are you prepared in case things start to happen?" He asked and she chuckled then looked at him.

"Yeah, I am prepared for what may come next, we have to be careful, especially today," She responded.

"Yeah, you are right, who knows how much more the power balance will shift after certain things, it's quite easy to do it, if you have the ability to, within the blink of an eye, everything can go to dust," He said.

After hearing what he said, Nessa glanced at him, wondering how much he may have seen in in his life to talk a certain way and her brows furrowed as they arrived at the dining hall and her brows furrowed, wanting to know more about him as well.
