Chapter 417 The Third Zombie Wave's Announcement
The day of the designated event has finally arrived.
The Zombie Wave was only hours away, and everyone at the Silver Mine Camp knew it, so everyone had an early breakfast..
On the other hand, Shane stood on top of the main gate, scanning the numerous traps they'd arranged...
Around the camp, the preparations were already completed… Shane even placed three people to protect the Turrent mounted on the main building.
The watchtowers were also manned by at least three people each to increase their firepower, and finally, the newly installed Zombie Grinder stood silently behind the fence. Once turned on, it was ready to shred anything that dared to approach.
Suddenly, the familiar gray fog of Shane's Territory Lord Talent began to swirl around the camp.
'Ahh… Is it that time of the day already?' Shane thought to himself as he realized that his Territory Lord Title's effect had just been activated.
'I wonder if the Manor will also recruit a new person…' He mused for a moment.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Anyway, he could just ask Raze if another person was recruited to the shelter…
He then turned his attention in front of the gate, watching as the fog thickened… Its supernatural presence enveloped the surroundings for a few seconds before a hazy figure was seen coming out of the fog.
Soon, a figure emerged from the fog.
Shane narrowed his eyes, trying to make out the details. It was a young man, perhaps no older than 25, carrying a musket—a weapon that looked severely outdated by his standards.
'That musket looked really bad… Maybe that's the legendary three rounds per minute?' Shane thought with a helpless smile as he recalled some documentation he had watched before. Such a weapon wouldn't be too useful when fighting against a massive wave of Zombies…
Anyway, Shane could just give him a new weapon later. As long as he had an aim, it shouldn't be difficult for him to quickly adjust to a new weapon.
The man looked confused for a bit before looking at Shane, who was observing him.
He had dark hair that was tied back, and he wore a tattered military coat that had clearly seen better days. He stepped forward, and the fog had soon disappeared.
For a moment, there was wariness on his face as he looked around the camp, taking in the fortified walls and the people rushing to look at him… However, after recalling the mysterious voice that he had heard a while ago, there shouldn't be a problem. He could only hope that this shelter had enough food to feed another person.
Thud… Thud…
Shane descended from the gate and approached him, sizing up the new recruit.
"Name?" Shane asked with a calm but authoritative voice.
"Ibrahim," the man answered, standing a bit straighter now. "Ibrahim, from the southern plains."
Shane had no idea where that plain was, but he ignored it. He glanced at the musket in Ibrahim's hands. The weapon looked ancient, barely functional by his standards of the evolving technology they now had access to.
"Ibrahim… I'm Shane, the Foreign Survivor… Tell me about your skills."
Ibrahim was unsurprised as he swiftly showed his three skills to Shane. They Self-Taught Marksman, Hunter's Instincts, and Untrained Gunslinger Reflexes.

"Mhmm… Two level 5 skills and one maxed out level 5 Skill… Interesting." Shane muttered as he realized that there were Skills that had a maximum level of only 5.
In any case, they were all still useful.
"That's good enough… You'll be a huge help later. Anyway, that musket's not going to do you any good here, Ibrahim. You'll need something better," Shane said, gesturing for him to follow.
Ibrahim was also smart enough to realize that Shane was the one with the authority and asked him a few questions. Soon, Ibrahim learned about this place, including the names of the key figures in this shelter.
They then made their way to the small armory, where Shane handed Ibrahim a modern rifle with a smooth design.
This was purchased from Diana's Stores a couple of days ago, where her Survivor Store sold 20 pieces of Assault Rifles. The ammunition was then purchased in Lysandra's Store, and they were able to obtain plenty of it.
"A new weapon?!"
The young man's eyes widened as he held the new gun, its weight was heavy, and it was reassuring in his hands.
"This… this is incredible," Ibrahim said while running his fingers over the rifle. He wasn't used to such advanced technology, but he seemed eager to learn.
Shane nodded. "Get familiar with it. You'll need it when the wave hits."
Ibrahim bowed his head slightly in gratitude. "Thank you, Lord Shane. I'll do my best to defend this place."
With that, Shane left Ibrahim to Sandra to familiarize himself with the weapon and the camp…
Then, Shane turned his attention to the other group that had arrived earlier this morning. It was the ten Elves he had recruited with the Administrators's Elf Recruitment Stones.
Apparently, all these ten were Rangers. They were a quiet, sharp-eyed group, each one with a bow slung across their back and a quiver full of arrows.
Unlike the previous stones, the Elf Recruitment Stones at this time were only able to call upon Ranger without any Warriors at all.
Anyway, even without the frontline warriors, the Rangers were more agile and specialized in ranged combat, which suited their location as well…
They will not be stationed along the watchtowers since they will just stand there and waste their agility and fast movement speed. Instead, Shane decided to place them behind him once he wore his Exosuit. That way, he would have a support once he goes in the front line.
Shane then approached the leader of the group, an Elf named Kaelen.
His silver hair was cropped short, and his forest-green eyes gleamed with loyalty.
Kaelen's bow had clearly seen many battles with how it looks but this was certainly better than the ones Shane currently has… It was slung casually across his back like a normal bow, but Shane saw how it could destroy a stone…
"I trust you and your men are ready," Shane said as he allowed them a few hours of rest a while ago. He also made sure to fill their stomach after familiarizing themselves with the surroundings.
Kaelen nodded with a slight smile. "Rangers don't need much to prepare. We've scouted the perimeter and added a few traps in the direction you've mentioned. When the wave comes, we'll be ready."
Shane appreciated their efficiency. "Good. We're counting on your eyes. Anything that moves out there, you spot it before it gets too close."
The area they were talking about was the one in the nearby stream. Although that area was treacherous with how steep it was, Zombie could still use that area to climb up to their area.
"We'll do as you say…" Kaelen said.
"Great… Just hide your presence for now… Right, you'll also be recovering those arrows since we had limited arrows. Ahh… Wait, let me check the Marketplace again."
Shane muttered as he was barely able to purchase enough Arrows in the past few days because everyone basically had the same thoughts: buying ammunition in the Marketplace.
Because of that, Shane could hardly buy a few quivers with at least 50 arrows each. Nonetheless, two thousand arrows should be good enough if they could recover them.
After all, this Zombie Wave would last for 12 hours…
"Alright… I got a few more quivers of arrows…" Shane muttered after some time. He had just purchased them for 30 Zombie Cores each in the Marketplace.
He bought a total of 30 quivers just now.
'I should do this business next time…' Shane thought to himself. In any case, he would also earn enough money once the Vampires started causing havoc. For sure, his Silver Weapons would cause a huge uproar at that time.
After dealing with the elves, Shane was now just waiting for the announcement.
The transformation of the Silver Mine Camp over the past few days was nothing short of remarkable… He had done everything he could…
