Chapter 418 The Zombie Wave ( 1 )

Shane and everyone else in the continent then looked at the message that had appeared in front of them.

[ Attention all Survivors! ]

[ Prepare yourselves for the most formidable challenge yet, as we announce the arrival of the Third Zombie Wave!

In just 15 minutes, another onslaught of Zombies will descend upon every corner of the land. This time, expect that the horde will be stronger, the enemies will be deadlier, and the stakes will be higher than ever.

Survivors, brace yourselves for an intense 12-hour battle, one where your endurance, strength, and teamwork will be tested to the limit. The Third Zombie Wave will bring with it not just Low-Tier, Mid-Tier Zombies, and High-Tier Zombies but also Special Armored Zombies! ]

[ Important Notice! ]

[ This wave's difficulty will, once again, scale with the size and strength of your shelter. The larger and more advanced and populated your base, the more dangerous the undead that will come to claim it. Whether you command a vast, fortified city or a smaller outpost, you must be ready to stand your ground. ]

[ Survivors, it is the greatest challenge you have faced to date. May your courage, wisdom, and skill see you through the darkness ahead.

Hold strong, and may the spirits of your fallen comrades guide your hands in this final hour.

[ Good luck, Survivors. The countdown to the Third Zombie Wave begins now! ]

After reading this message, everyone had mixed emotions. Nonetheless, they had already prepared whatever they could, and there was nothing more they could do.

After some time, Shane also gave some encouraging words to everyone to increase their morale…

"We will survive this!" Shane shouted in the end, using his Titan's Roar. This skill made everyone feel more relaxed about what was about to come.

It didn't take long before the countdown was completed, and soon, the Third Zombie Wave began. Discover hidden stories at empire

Thud… Thud… Thud…

Soon, the ground trembled beneath the weight of the approaching horde. Hundreds of Miner Zombies, with their yellow helmets, moved forward.

Shane knew about these Zombies and their safety helmets were tough and could stop even some bullets. What was interesting about them was the fact that they carried rusted pickaxes and shovels, as if they could use it as their weapons.

'No… I should assume that they can use those things they're holding.' Shane mused as he looked behind the horde.

Just like what he expected, there was a greater threat behind them—a bulky Armored Tyrant Zombie.

It towered over the Miner Zombies, and each of its heavy footsteps caused the earth to shudder.

'That's a huge one, quite similar to the one in the Boss Raid Event.' Shane mused.

The defenders braced for an oncoming horde as they held their weapons tightly. Shane, the leader of the shelter, stood at the front lines to boost everyone's morale.

As soon as the first layer of traps was triggered by the Miner Zombies, Shane witnessed them get torn apart by flying blades…

Of course, these traps only took about 20 or so Miner Zombies, but it was still a good result… The enemies then moved forward after a few moments, and more traps were triggered.

Soon, they reached half of the laid-out traps…

In an instant, spikes shot up from the ground just as the Miner Zombies crossed the boundary. The spike traps pierced through their decaying bodies, slowing their advance, but the sheer number of zombies kept them coming.

'Just come forward…' Shane thought as he watched their traps work perfectly.

Finally, as the Zombies got even closer, the Automated Turrets were activated, locking onto the approaching Zombies…

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Soon, a barrage of energy bullets cut through the first wave of Miner Zombies, shredding their bodies and knocking them to the ground.

It didn't matter, even if their brains weren't destroyed. It was enough to destroy their bodies as they would not be able to move at all. The zombies behind them would just crush their heads as they marched forward.

[ You have eliminated an Elite Miner Zombie. ]

This message repeated several more times as Shane confirmed that these Miner Zombies might really be capable of attacking using their shovels and pickaxes.

Soon, their surroundings were filled with the sound of rapid gunfire as the Turrets worked tirelessly to thin the horde.

Energy Bullets rained down as the blue light filled the surroundings…

"Beautiful…" Some others couldn't help but comment after seeing the streaks of blue light produced by the Energy Bullets.

Then, from the watchtowers, gunshots rang out as the guards took aim at the approaching Zombies. They focused on headshots since they were confident that their bullets could pierce through the helmets easily… Apparently, they were using the Zombie's orange helmet as their target!

It made it easier for them to hit their targets. Ibrahim was quite happy with this situation and felt that he could eliminate hundreds of them alone as long as he had enough bullets.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Each gunshot sent a Miner Zombie crashing to the ground and they were winning this first wave.

Furthermore, the ten elves stood atop the barricades. They monitored the flow of the battle as they fired arrows in areas that had some lacking attacks…

They also eliminated those who were able to pass through the traps.

With every draw of their bows, another Miner Zombie collapsed, an arrow embedded in their skull as their helmets failed to protect them.

"It's coming…" Kaelen, the leader of the Elven Rangers, muttered…

Despite the combined firepower, the Armored Tyrant Zombie charged forward, smashing through the ranks of fallen zombies as if they were nothing.

Its metal-like body crashed into the remains of its fellow undead with an unstoppable force.

Shane knew they couldn't allow the Tyrant to reach the palisade. The camp's defenses were holding, but if that behemoth got close enough, it would tear through their walls like paper.

She wasn't even sure if the grinder could crush this creature…

After some hesitations, Shane spoke up.

"I'll take care of it," Shane said as he got ready.
