My Divine Pet System

Chapter 48

C48 – Too Slow!

Qin Hongyu’s punch landed squarely on the man’s chest with a force that sent him flying. It was as if he’d been struck by a speeding truck, crashing into the metal wardrobe behind him.

This was no ordinary wardrobe; it was a metal piece connected to the entire bed, yet it was now dented and deformed from the impact.

The man didn’t even have time to grunt before he passed out, a visible indentation in his chest where the blow had landed.

“Damn you! You hurt my brother, you’re asking for it!” snarled another man, his face hardening as he summoned his battle spirit, a solid Earth cow spirit.

The cow spirit filled a third of the room upon its arrival, its eyes glowing red with fury as it locked onto Qin Hongyu.

It charged without warning, its sharp horns threatening to send Qin Hongyu to the hospital for months.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

”Too slow!” Qin Hongyu retorted, releasing his own battle spirit in a flash, flinging it from his arm.

The Serpent Spirit coiled around the man in an instant, and Qin Hongyu followed up by tossing a Spiritual Card.

“Screeching Hedgehog—Sharp Armor!” he commanded icily.

Spikes erupted from the Serpent Spirit’s body, creating a spiky prison around the man, yet carefully keeping a lethal distance.

“I was wrong! Please, don’t kill me!” The man collapsed to his knees, pleading for mercy.

The cow spirit was promptly retracted. With his life hanging by a thread, the man lost all will to resist.

“Who sent you to ambush me?” Qin Hongyu demanded, bending down to pick up a photograph from the floor and tucking it away with deliberate care.

He had never seen these two before, and he was certain someone was pulling the strings.

“No one,” the man stammered, fear evident in his voice.

Qin Hongyu simply tightened the spiky enclosure, the points grazing the man’s skin.

“Ah!” A sharp cry of pain escaped the man, who quickly corrected himself, “It was our roommate—he’s the one who moved your stuff in. Said it was already open when he did. He called you trash from Class D, and claimed you only got into Building A by pulling strings!”

Dormitory assignments are based on class divisions. Typically, students from Class A reside in Building A, while those from Class B stay in Building B, and so on.

The first floor is generally home to freshmen, the second floor to sophomores, and the third floor, naturally, to juniors.

“Is his name Ji Buyu?” Qin Hongyu asked through clenched teeth.

“Yes, exactly, that’s the name!” the man confirmed loudly.

Prior to this, two individuals had made their way to the entrance of Building A—Ji Yin and Ji Buyu.

“Uncle, pick up the pace, will you? We wouldn’t want to miss the excitement!” Ji Buyu urged, his face alight with anticipation.

“You, lad, expecting me to step in to handle some Class D nobody? Preposterous!” Ji Yin’s expression soured as he spoke coolly.

“That kid’s a tricky one; he defies all logic. But no matter how tough he acts, I bet my two Class A roommates have already given him a good thrashing!” Ji Buyu exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement.
