Chapter 742 Heavenly Palace
----- In the loving memory of my dear cousin. May his soul rest in peace. -----
[A few weeks ago; Location: Heavenly Palace of the Chief Prince]
The courtroom of the Heavenly Palace was filled with the soft and pleasant music and the giggles and laughter of the angels who worked under the command of the Chief Prince.
The Chief Prince was lying down on his elegant throne. He was busy drowning himself in the finest wine of the Heaven realm while appreciating the elegant dance performed by the most beautiful angels of the realm.
"Pour me some more," Michael raised his golden cup and ordered one of the beautiful angels who worked as his personal maid.
The maid held the pitcher of the wine with her long and tender fingers. And she gracefully filled the cup to its brim.
Michael's green eyes shined as he brought that cup full of wine closer to his lips.
However, before he could take a sip, several specks of silver dust mixed with snowflakes burst near his cup. And before he could save his cup, a tiny faery popped out of thin air and plopped into the cup, splashing the red wine all over Michael's face and his white silk robe.
"Tessa!" Michael sighed in irritation now that his mood was ruined. "How many times do I have to tell you to be careful when you teleport here?"
Michael clenched his jaw and looked at his maid.
That maid instantly took out a cotton handkerchief from her pocket and gently patted it on Michael's face.
While the maid was busy cleaning the wine from her master's face, Tessa did her best to grab the rim of the cup and then hung outside the cup.
Her white hair and her white clothes were now stained with the color of the wine.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"I'm – *hic* – so s-sorry, Your Highness." Tessa was having a fit of hiccups because while trying to get out of the cup, she happened to take several gulps of wine.
Michael was still holding the cup and glaring at the hanging faery. He was contemplating whether to put the cup down on the table or to throw it away so as to teach a lesson to Tessa.
Before Michael could decide on what he wanted to do, Tessa's body decided for herself.
The wine was too strong for her tiny body. She couldn't hold on to the cup in her lightheaded state so she slipped down.
And her wings were still wet, making it difficult for her to hover in the air. "Ahhhhhh… Help… Please…" She plead as she was falling straight to the floor.
Thankfully, the maid held out her palm below Tessa. And Tessa's landing got cushioned by the soft palms of the maid.
Michael glared at Tessa and heaved a sigh. He then snapped his fingers, after which, a small bubble of water appeared above Tessa.
And the poor faery got drenched when he snapped his fingers again.
Tessa gasped for air for a second there, thinking that Michael was going to drown her and kill her for ruining his face and his clothes. But she was glad that it wasn't her end.
She wiped the water from her face with her palms and finally bowed to the Chief Prince. "Greetings, Your Highness. I am here to give you the monthly update on Princess Ariel."
Michael gestured for her to spit out everything that she had on Ariel.
And she instantly began to spill all the lies that were scripted by God. "There is no new information on Princess Ariel. Like always, we could only gather the information on her from the gossip that took place outside of the bubble."
She cleared her throat and continued, "We heard that the Princess is currently seeing the suitors. She might get married if she likes any of the Princes."
She snorted and said jokingly, "But I personally don't know why she is even willing to go through the troubles of finding a suitable husband when he will only last for a couple of decades."
Tessa came back to her senses real quick. And she concluded the session, "However, I can assure you, Your Highness. Princess Ariel seems to be that kind of woman who likes to play house with the humans and spend her life quietly. You already know how she doesn't have any interest in politics and power plays.
She is even willing to give her birthright to rule that tiny Kingdom to anyone who is willing to take that chance. So, she isn't that big a threat to you, really."
Michael gave a satisfied smirk after hearing all the things that he wanted to hear.
And he happily thought to himself, "I just hope that my dear niece will stay the way she is. And I won't have to worry about eliminating the competition."
He looked at that snow faery and praised her, "Keep on bringing such pleasing news to me." He also pointed at his table and said, "You can take as much food as you can with you. Consider it the reward for your hard work. You may take your leave."
"I will forever be in your debt, Your Highness," Tessa enthusiastically bowed to Michael. She flapped her wings rapidly to shake off the water droplets. And she smiled at the maid who had been holding her until now and then flew towards the table.
She grabbed a grape and pulled it with all her might to separate it from its stem.
Right then an angel glided down from the open ceiling of the courtroom. After softly landing on his feet, he folded his marvelous grey wings and smoothed out his long raven black hair.
He gave a polite bow to Michael and asked while smirking, "Wasn't drinking enough that you also bathed in wine?"
"Nathaniel." Michael got up from his throne and gave a tight hug to his brother, effectively rubbing the wine stains on Nathaniel's clothes.
"Come on! This is my new cloth!" Nathaniel frowned and pulled away from his elder brother's hug. He tried to rub off the stain and said irately, "You're cleaning this."
Michael mockingly smiled at Nathaniel and sat back down on his grand throne. "So, how did you remember that you also have an elder brother?"
"I…" Nathaniel replied while his gaze was on Tessa who almost got thrown out of the table while pulling that grape, "I remembered you, just the way I remembered that I have a niece down on Earth."
Tessa froze upon hearing the mention of Ariel.
"Oh?" Michael raised his brows and waited for Nathaniel to say what he had come to say.
Nathaniel didn't think much of that weird faery and turned his gaze back at his brother. And he gave a sly smirk to his brother. "What will I get if I give an interesting piece of news about her?"
Michael was confident that Tessa had already told him everything that he needed to know. He looked at her holding a grape. And he nonchalantly replied to Nathaniel, "A grape?"
Nathaniel laughed and said suggestively, "What I am about to tell you is worth more than just a grape, brother."

Tessa's small heart started to beat like crazy. She knew that she would get into deep trouble if she stayed there for a second more. So she vanished from there in the blink of an eye.
Michael was too focused on his brother to notice that disappearance. "What is it then? Tell me already."
Nathaniel proudly held his arms behind his back and slightly puffed his chest. And he answered, "I was roaming near Wyverndale. And you know what I saw?"
"What?"
"Carriages. But not just any carriages. One of them had our niece in it." Nathaniel smirked and further added, "She has the eyes of our dearest younger brother."
What do you think?
