She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 743 Someone Gullible

Michael instantly got up on his feet at the mention of Ariel. He looked at Nathaniel with a mixture of excitement as well as anxiety lurking in his eyes.

And he asked, "You mean to say that Ariel is out of her safe bubble?"

Nathaniel gave a proud smile and nodded in agreement.

"And she isn't accompanied by our brother, I presume? Else he would have sensed you." Michael made a guess.

And Nathaniel agreed again. "Yes, our brother is finally letting his daughter fly away from her nest on her own. I didn't get too close to her though. But I believe our niece is traveling somewhere."

Upon hearing that, Michael felt a sting of doubt in his heart. He knitted his brows together and mumbled, "I'm surprised that Theodore is doing that, considering how he had put up the barrier in his little Kingdom to prevent his daughter from encountering us."

He started to pace back and forth and then asked himself, "Could it be that… she's capable of defending herself now?"

He abruptly turned around to look at the table. Tessa was long gone from there. A chill shiver ran down his spine when a dreadful thought hit his mind, "What if… she had been lying to me all along?"

"I have to see Ariel for myself," Michael announced resolutely. And in the next second, he flapped out his large wings with golden feathers.

However, before he could head for Earth, Nathaniel lightly pressed his palm over his brother's chest to stop him from taking stupid actions in a hurry. "Er… I don't think you should do that."

"Why? She is finally out in the open. And I am simply trying to see her with my own two eyes. What's wrong with that?" Michael shrugged off and pushed Nathaniel's palm away from his chest.

Nathaniel was adamant about stopping his brother at any cost though. He pointed his finger up at the sky and then he tapped on his ear, signaling that their father could be listening to them.

He then grabbed Michael by his shoulders.

"No!" Michael glared at Nathaniel and tried to warn him not to do what he was about to do.

But it was already too late.

Michael closed his eyes and heaved a deep sigh when he found himself in the very familiar white room. He was transported inside the consciousness of Nathaniel's mind.

"Ugh! You know I hate it when you pull me inside your mind!" Michael scolded Nathaniel for it.

Nathaniel disregarded what Michael had just said to him. And he immediately scolded Michael instead, "Do you even think before speaking? Or doing anything?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"What? Did I say anything wrong? I simply said that I wanted to see our niece with my own two eyes." Michael wasn't ready to see that he was going to do something that their father would frown upon.

Nathaniel then said what he had in his mind, "If you go there now to 'meet' Ariel then do you think our parents will leave you alone? And okay, even if I agree for a second that you just want to meet her and nothing more, do you really think that our mother would like that? Don't you know that she was the one who created the barrier around Wyverndale? To keep everyone out?"

"I know!" Michael restlessly ran his fingers through his long dark red hair and said, "And that is why this is my only chance to go and test her powers for myself before she goes back into her bubble again."

Nathaniel held Michael by his shoulders and shook him to put some sense into his brother. And he urged Michael to think it through, "Michael! Come to your senses! If you go there now and try to 'test' her powers then you might get into big trouble. Don't you think it would be better to send someone unsuspecting to do the job for you?

That way, our parents won't get angered at you and neither will you get punished if something goes wrong."

Michael was impressed by the idea given by Nathaniel. He lightly rubbed his thumb over his chin and then said with appreciation, "I like that. But who do we ask?"

Nathaniel simply shrugged. "I would have loved to volunteer and see for myself if Ariel indeed has the affinity to two elements. But I don't want to face our father's wrath later. So… you better find someone trustworthy and loyal for this task."

"Don't you have anyone in your mind?" Michael asked after thinking for a while and not being able to think of anyone like that.

He didn't want to send any lower-level angels for this task because he feared that Theodore might have been secretly training his daughter unlike what Tessa had told him. He wanted to send someone powerful enough to face Ariel in case she grew up to be as capable as he feared.

After all, having control over two affinities already made Ariel God's favorite. And harnessing what she had in her, when she had God's previous favorite one by her side, was an achievable thing.

Nathaniel suddenly snapped his fingers. He had this sly smile on his face.

So Michael eagerly asked, "What is it? You have someone in your mind, don't you?"

Nathaniel replied while maintaining that smirk on his face, "Yes. Maybe… we don't need someone who is trustworthy and loyal. We just need someone who is gullible."

"And who might that b– Oh!" Michael clapped his hands and smiled ear to ear.

And both of them simultaneously said, "Irene!"

"Where's our peace-loving sister these days? I haven't seen her in a while," Michael instantly wanted to know her whereabouts so that he could go and manipulate her into doing his bidding.

"Where else?" Nathaniel heaved a sigh of frustration and said after rolling his eyes, "She always follows me. I go around inciting the war on the Earth realm, and she follows me around trying to end my great works."

Michael smiled seeing how frustrated Nathaniel was at the moment. And he tried to calm him down, "Well, we can't really blame her. After all, that is her task… spreading peace around the world."

An evil smirk appeared on Nathaniel's lips when he asked Michael, "But this time, I have a feeling that she will be helping me. Won't she?"

However, Michael stepped on Nathaniel's happiness. "I really hope that it won't be the starting point of another great war. I hope Tessa was a hundred percent right about Ariel. I am simply confirming that our dear niece is a frail child who isn't any threat to my throne."

Nathaniel clicked his tongue in disappointment. However, he was secretly hoping that Michael had been in the dark. He was hoping to witness some chaos so that he could get some entertainment.

He couldn't wait to send Irene after Ariel. So he asked Michael, "Do you want me to find our sister?"

"Yes, obviously." Michael held his arms behind his back and ordered his brother, "Send her to me once you find that wanderer."

He then grumpily ordered again, "Now get me out of this blinding white room already. It is suffocating to be here."

Before following his brother's order, Nathaniel looked at Michael and said whimsically, "I do hope that you will reward me handsomely for what I did today. And… if the event turns unfavorable, and our father questions my involvement, I am going to deny having any part in your little games."

"Alright, alright. I will take the full responsibility if anything goes wrong." Michael then asked again, "Now get me out."
