99 Chapter 75 High Technology Analysis
Yan Fei had a natural allergy to alcohol, so while it looked like he was drinking booze at the nightclub, he had actually swapped it out early on with juice from the Universal Space; otherwise, a man not drinking or picking up girls at a nightclub would indeed be quite odd. Moreover, this was Japan, someone else's turf. Yan Fei felt a sense of insecurity here and had to stay alert.
So when Jo Oogawa was stumbling drunk, Yan Fei was completely sober. The moment he saw Ryoko Oogawa here, he was overjoyed, making his three consecutive nights of stakeouts worthwhile. He had been wondering how to find these two culprits, and now, as they appeared before his eyes, Yan Fei was determined to kill them. Therefore, if he made his move, their deaths tonight were certain.
However, Yan Fei didn't immediately enter the room to kill Ryoko Oogawa and Jo Oogawa. He wanted to gather more intelligence, as the Oogawa Family was also his target and would surely be his long-term adversary; hence, he wanted to collect more information about his opponent. After all, the Auxiliary Brain could only collect information that was publicly available on the Internet and couldn't access highly confidential intelligence. To understand the Oogawa Family, it was more reliable to hear about them from their own people.
In the room, Ryoko Oogawa frowned when she saw Jo Oogawa stagger in and said, "Jo Oogawa, you're such a disappointment. A grown man like you can't even handle this much adversity, drowning yourself in drink?" n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Jo Oogawa found himself a sofa, sat down with a drunken slur, and said, "I messed up our business in China, and the old men in the family are very unhappy with me. They've already decided to write me off. You could say my future is ruined. If I don't drink, what else can I do?"
Ryoko Oogawa threw a bottle of water to Jo Oogawa and said, "Have some water and sober up. The responsibility for the incident in China is greater on me than on you, and the punishment I've received is harsher. Have you ever seen me as defeated as you are now?"
Jo Oogawa opened the cap, took a sip of water, and sobered up a bit before saying, "You and I are different. You'll eventually marry into the Yamamoto Family and become the Yamamoto Family's daughter-in-law. Our Oogawa Family won't be able to control you then. With your abilities, you can certainly make a comeback in the Yamamoto Family. But I, alive or dead, belong to the Oogawa Family. My life is truly finished now."
Ryoko Oogawa scolded, "Jo Oogawa, the way you're acting now doesn't resemble an Oogawa man at all. There's an old saying in China, 'you rise where you fall.' We've taken a hit in China, so we must find a way to atone for our actions. If we can make up for the family's losses, there's still a bright future ahead."
Jo Oogawa sighed and said, "Our loss in China was severe. The expert Kazuteru Oogawa and his team are missing, and I bet they've been killed at sea by now. Even Japan's Red Dragon Submarine was captured by China because of this incident. Most crucially, we still haven't been able to bring Yan Fei and Lu Pingping back to Japan. With such a great loss, how do you suppose we can atone? How can we recover the family's losses? How can we get the family to give us another chance?"
A mysterious smile appeared on Ryoko Oogawa's face as she said, "Don't be so pessimistic. Maybe I really do have a way to atone! Otherwise, why would I have called you here?"
It turned out that Ryoko Oogawa was the one who had spoken with Jo Oogawa at the nightclub earlier. Jo Oogawa had been very angry then, but now, hearing Ryoko Oogawa's words, his eyes lit up, and he said eagerly, "Ryoko, do you really have a solution? Tell me quickly."
Ryoko Oogawa said, "After my setback, I've been analyzing why we failed. I won't mention the unavoidable factors, but I've mainly been contemplating who filmed our conversation that night and uploaded the video to the Internet. Without that video, even with the family's devastating loss, we would still have a chance to turn things around. It's precisely because of that video that we ended up in total defeat, as the family thinks those losses were caused by our compromise of secrets. So, I've been investigating who took that video."
Hope reappeared in Jo Oogawa's eyes, sobering him up considerably as he asked hurriedly, "Do you have a lead now?"
Ryoko Oogawa nodded and said, "Indeed, I've made a significant discovery. I gathered these people here specifically to focus on studying this video. We first analyzed the shooting angle of the video, and it was clear it was filmed from outside the wall of my Office. I'm certain that there's no Surveillance Camera installed at that angle in my Office, and there are no cameras nearby that could have captured the inside of my Office. This means that the video wasn't filmed by our own cameras. Now, one thing is certain: someone outside my window used equipment to secretly film our conversation that night."
Seeing the hope-filled eyes of Jo Oogawa, Ryoko Oogawa continued explaining, "So I reviewed all the Cameras in the factory area, and indeed, in the footage from a camera in a remote location, I found a clue."
Ryoko Oogawa snapped her fingers, and a Worker operated the computer. A video appeared on the large liquid-crystal Television in the room, and then the video began playing. The video content was from the Wangde Food Factory, and it was surveillance footage from the night of the incident.
