The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 245 Energy Burst

I saw the golden sparkle in its mouth.

'No way, it has golden teeth too?'

Still with <Haven> over me, I summoned the gold shard I had found earlier.

"Don't tell me I'm holding a tooth."

The creature roared, and began hitting its massive black chest. Its frame was frightening. It was tall, about the height of an African Elephant, and massive. It had a protruding belly that looked to be layered by dense muscles. Its arms were like trees, tough, strong and rigid.

With my <Absolute Appraisal> on, I got revealed its information.

Those were incredibly high stats, I swallowed. This humongous gorilla was much stronger than the Muck Guardian Demon I had just faced.

It beat its chest once again and roared, my eyes fixated on the red thing like a gem fixed in its chest.

Once it was done beating its chest, it suddenly stopped and let open its large mouth and a wave of powerful flesh-rending sounds came my way, ready to tear me apart.

I didn't think to evade it as my trusty energy projection was over me. The attack struck my Haven, causing a thin ripple to spread across it, but nothing worth a worry.

It continued the attack for about two minutes, and whether it was out of exhaustion or it saw that there was no point to using the move, either way it stopped. It arched up its head and sent the sonic blast up to the trees, and…it looked pissed, pissed that the attack hadn't worked on me. The sonic attack might very well be a one shot attack it wields, and it was frustrated, seeing that I not only survived it, I was unscathed.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

I smirked, "You don't want to throw punches? Too lazy for that?" I taunted.

The Emoni Jungle Gorilla snorted, and quickly dug its hand into the soil by its side, picking up a large handful, spun and then launched it at me.

The muck struck my Haven and slowly slipped to the ground. The move looked good but it bore nothing, if the sonic wave didn't do damage, then what would a muck throw do? And then I saw it, the muck was just a distraction, as it was in front of me, I didn't see it moving, and one would think a creature as large as it was would make shaking sounds when it walks but it didn't, its feet were silent.

It clasped its hands together and swung them at me. <Haven> was between us and it took the brunt of the blow. The blow sent me jotting back, still within the protection of Haven, but the Gorilla didn't stop there, for one its size, it was awfully fast and flexible.

It grabbed Haven as I tumbled, threw me above, throwing me further out of balance, and out of control. It then jumped, causing a loud splash sound below, and got on a tree, using it to push itself further up and to me.

My eyes fought to align where I was, and I fought to control my limbs, and then out of nowhere. I was rumbling, my vision cloudy, but then I saw it. Two massive black arms around my Haven, strongly grappling it.

The gorilla pulled me down with itself, and as we fell, it spun, and suddenly, I felt a loud bang and sounds of cracks over my <Haven>, my vision was blocked by muck.

However, the Gorilla didn't stop there, and though I couldn't see it, it continued its onslaught of attacks, striking and hitting my energy shield, and even using its sonic blast on it. It did all this in a frenzy, and I could hear the cracks of my Haven expanding.

Its high combat ability wasn't just for show alright, it was incredibly battle oriented, and strong.

I jetted out of the way just before I could get clobbered some more. I zoomed backwards lying, and then I rose and undid <Haven>

Enough games, it only caught me by surprise, nothing more, and the way it manhandled me, pissed me off.

I threw forward my right arm, glaring at the gargantuan creature, I called out my move.

<Gravity Press x 10>

The crushing gravity pull descended on it, and the air around the gorilla compressed, creating a vacuum that siphoned more air into it. However, the Gorilla remained standing, it struggled, and I saw blood drip from its nose, eyes and ears, but it still stood. It was like an unbreakable wall, and it found courage to move, though slowly.

'What the hell?' I was surprised. I know it was strong, but I didn't think it was withstanding a gravity press ten times strong. Even I, without <Haven> would find it difficult to move.

"Just how?"

Its black face contorted, and somehow it found the strength to roar, I felt that I had somehow enraged it some more, and the hairs of my body rose.

I have to end things quickly.

Something unexpected then happened, the hairs of the gorilla stood upright, and there was a flare of red energy, the light projected from the burst of energy encompassed the immediate trees. It was like there was a fire on this powerful creature, and I felt my gravity press getting repelled.

I smirked, feeling extremely excited. The gorilla stared at me, its countenance stoic, and I maintained its glare. I could tell that it didn't feel the exertion of my gravity press any longer.

'Is this energy burst?' It made sense that it was.

"To think that he's not the boss."
