The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 246 Like Something in a video game

The Emoni Jungle Gorilla was majestic, and with the red energy licking across its skin, a feel of divinity radiated from it, and it had this calm stoic expression like it was observing a cornered prey.

I simply smirked, fear was the last thing I'd feel. The gorilla was mighty huge and impressive, but I had been holding back, I was always holding back. Your adventure continues at empire

'It seems like I wouldn't need to.'

THUMP!

A large splash of muck went up behind the creature as it stormed forward. Before getting to me however, it thrust an arm, sending a large wave of red energy towards me. I stood, maintaining my position, largely out of curiousity as I intended to know the effect of this energy on my <Haven>.

The energy slithered over Haven and soon encompassed it, and I felt a pressure against the walls of the shield. However, it was not enough. The majestic creature was already in front of me, and it raised both hands up, and sort of paused, in a rather dramatic way, and in that short moment, a large amount of energy about its body swept to just its fists and coalesced into an energy sphere.

I don't know why, but I remained, I stood, out of wonder. My eyes wide and locked on the brimming orb of energy.

Elemental abilities and manipulation was nice, but energy manipulation of this caliber would even be grander.

'Perhaps I could gain the skill if I kill it.' Was the thought that lingered in my mind. Perhaps I could get it.

The powerful blow fell, it was like a thrown rock on a thin glass, and <Haven> shattered, but fortunately, I had activated <teleportation> just in time and got out of harm's way.

I watched the plentiful energy burst and dissipate upon hitting my <Haven>. It threw and flew about like firecrackers lit up in the sky, causing loud booms, and scaring the natives as I heard animals screaming and saw some running farther ahead.

"Impressive, very very impressive." In a way, at this time, I could say this Gorilla was the toughest opponent I had fought.

I was about to summon my advanced grand rocks, but I thought against it, projectiles would make this fast and easy, or would it not?

'Hmmm… If it could resist my gravity press, chances are that my rocks won't totally decimate it, they won't totally decimate.'

"You're not listed in the quests, but you are worthy of such recognition."

I summoned my five rocks, and doused them with different elemental attributes: Fire, water, wind, lightning and even earth as I thickened one further that it probably weighed more than a boulder.

The Emoni monster opened its large mouth, and a destructive wave of energy jetted out of its mouth at me.

I sent forth my rocks, and they had the energy bounce off from them, and still they descended. I had them in a circle spinning as they traveled at the speed of lightning, and though each rock was reinforced with a different element, I combined them all, using the product as a secondary boost to the rocks.

They spun, and went in a zap, hitting the gorilla in its belly, and it fell.

It moaned momentarily, falling into muck that doused it, and its burst of energy disappeared to practically nothing.

"Hmmm…"

There, I assumed it was dead, it ought to be, I only waited for my system to notify and reward me.

Then, I heard a rumbling, like a hungry belly , except that the belly was much larger, like one of a thousand elephants, it felt like I was hearing the whole floor rumble.

As it laid, energy flared up from it, dousing it once more, and then it slowly. My trusty rocks hovered by me, as I stared at the behemoth.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

I saw the grave wound that my rocks inflicted, I saw the gaping wound that went so deep to the other end of the creature.

And then I watched as wounded, pulpy flesh hastily grew and repaired themselves, and sealed shut. The creature's belly was healed, more than that, it was like the wound had not been there in the first place.

'That's right, it has <regeneration>.' I did have <regeneration> as well, and mine was just as effective as it was. But I was a ranker, and it wasn't even a boss yet it possessed such an ability, and such strength? I didn't think it was fair, but it immediately surfaced to mind, and it's something that I've realized reoccurring, life wasn't fair, and it was even more so now.

'I supposed I'll just hurt it so much that it can't regenerate, and hopefully exhaust its life energy. I can't have any of that if I do intend to win this battle efficiently.'

"I can totally do that, can't I?" I asked myself looking at the black large eyes of the gorilla creature.

I hovered, watching it, and it remained below, looking to be doing the same. The two of us, momentarily in a staring contest, and then it happened.

It raised its arm, fixated on me, as if it was a cannon. It had done so so gracefully, that it looked almost rehearsed.

And from its fingers, shot out large threads of the destructive energy, twirling and zooming right at me.

I entertained the chase, drifting further away, and twisting as the energy attacks trailed me. I move stylishly, dodging them all. I had two of the blasts hit each other, and cancel each other, causing a thundering hum sound.

The last three were stopped with my grand rocks.

Then, something strange happened. Something quite unexpected.

The Gorilla jumped, moving past me and up above.

'It can fly?' I questioned myself with a look of surprise on my face.

The over-extending energy that overflowed, retracted in its size, pulled into itself, and became like a large orb of energy, or rather a ball of itself. And it remained up, like it was paused up there. Then the gorilla squeezed itself in a fetal position, holding its legs around its arms and it rolled at me.

It was like something from a video game, a tumbling gorilla ball.
